newbietowestseattleMemberNew LA Fitness in West Seattle! YMCA is great, but I think W. Seattle is big enough for 2 gyms.
Thank you so much! :)

JanSParticipantwell, now…there’s the YMCA, there’s All-Star, there’s 24 hour Fitness, there’s X Gym on Harbor Ave., there’s Cross Fit on Admiral, there’s Snap Fitness, there’s Fitness Together on Calif….yes, I do think there is room for more than one…

HuindekmiParticipantDepends on what you’re looking for in a gym.
X-Gym and Fitness Together are personal trainer outfits. Can’t just go there and work out. It’s one-on-one training only.
Snap Fitness and Anytime Fitness are more like the workout room at a hotel. Small. A few machines for your convenience. But no classes or trainers. It’s an on-your-own place.
Cross Fit is a different breed – kinda like classes only. You’ve got a set time to do a directed workout with a group.
LA Fitness is a full service gym, with all of the above. Machines and weights to work out on your own. Classes to have a directed group workout. Trainers to give one-on-one direction. If you’re looking for that, West Seattle has the Y, All Star and 24-hour Fitness.
There might be enough room for another full service joint, especially given the complaints we keep hearing about some of the other places in town. West Seattle is a pretty big place.

newbietowestseattleMemberOops, yes, I should have clarified. Huindekmi, you are right on. I meant a full service gym, but that’s not All Star (super expensive), or 24 hr Fitness, which I’ve been to, and it seems like it’s a meat market. :D

BostonmanMemberYa find one thats reasonable priced and a full service gym in West Seattle and I join tomorrow. I joined Seattle Athletic Club because its as close as I could find and a full service gym but its almost 3 times more than I have ever paid for a gym membership.

SueParticipantActually, Snap Fitness is not small like a hotel gym – it’s got 2 rooms full of varied equipment. And they also have trainers available if you want them.
