WSLiferParticipantGetting the word out there that Seattle United Methodist Churches challenged Denver UMCs to a Superbowl Food Bank competition! From now till Sunday before the big game, dry goods donated to UMCs in the area (Tibbetts on 41st & Andover is one) go towards the contest. Donations made at Tibbetts will go to the WS and White Center food banks! See the website for all donation locations http://www.unitedinblue.org or check out the Facebook event United in Blue to see all the fun pix & posts from area churches who intend to beat Denver in football and food!

JoBParticipantbump…
told hubby he would be donating to Seattle’s 12th man campaign for the super bowl last night at dinner.
he sat looking at me in dumb amazement…
to say i am not a football fan is an understatement..
until i explained that this competition would benefit the local food banks…
he told me to make Seattle proud :)

JoBParticipantwslifer..
it would be easier for me to donate cash than to try to go shopping as i am definitely mobility limited.. but if the online button for donating worked (and i couldn’t make it work) the donation wouldn’t go to my local food banks :(
is there a safe cash/check option?

WSLiferParticipantThere is! We’d be delighted with a check, given one of two ways. You could drop it off at church by putting it in the mailslot at the main front doors that go into the church (on 41st, left side of the doors). If we get it by Monday morning it’ll be included in the count ($1 = 1 food item). Or you could mail it to the church office. We have a relationship with the food banks so although it would not be counted in the Food Challenge, the money would go to them in any case.
Address is 3940 – 41st SW. Thanks for your support!
