JanSParticipantAnyone planning on going? I was thinking about it, but, knowing me, I won’t go by myself. But, if there are some other people I know there, I just might decide to. Anyone?

AnonymousInactiveJanS – What is it? People dance in the street?
July 12, 2008 at 7:12 am #631065
JanSParticipantabsolutely ! It’s a traditional part of the street festival…they hold it right on Calif. Ave at the Eagle’s Hall, just south of the post office. There’s a beer garden in the Eagles parking lot, usually a band or a dj. I haven’t been in years, but thought it would be fun to get out if there was someone there that I know. I’m bussing it, so can’t stay late (car not feeling well), but it beats sitting home on Saturday night :
Annual Saturday Night Street Dance, North Stage
Saturday, 8:00 pm
The cover band Oncore for 2 sets and West 5’s very own DJ Deanzig to boot! Dance in the street ‘til midnight! North beer garden is open during the whole thing! Don’t forget the North Beer Garden (21+) will be open late that evening!

AnonymousInactiveJan, I don’t do crowds well, but if you’re dancing in the street I just might make an exception :)
July 12, 2008 at 7:16 am #631067
JanSParticipantlol..thanks..I never guaranteed that I’d dance, but give me a beer or two , and who knows ;-)
July 12, 2008 at 7:17 am #631068
AnonymousInactiveShe danced at BPP. Quite well, I might add!!!
July 12, 2008 at 7:39 am #631069
ErikParticipantJan – I can come and act goofy (dance) too if you need someone to be weird with.
July 12, 2008 at 8:05 am #631070
JanSParticipantErik…I think I’ll meander down there about 7:30 or so…gotta get a good seat in the beer garden – lol. I’ll save you a seat…and if you decide to not come, well, I’ll just auction it off to some stranger – lol. I’ll look for ya !
So, there…I’ll be there…everyone come hang out, and we can watch Erik act goofy …hehehe…

JoBParticipantI wish i could come.. i have grandkids today and i won’t have enough energy left to lift my head.. let alone attend a street dance..
but it sounds like so much fun..
i wish i could translate my yearning into energy.

TheVelvetBulldogMemberJan – what a great way to loosen up that new hip! If nothing else comes up, I may come and shake tailfeathers with you.

MrJTMemberThis is rich, JanS says is anyone going to the “Street Dance” and NR asks, “What is it ? People dance in the street?” Sorry no hidden LGBT agenda there NR….
July 12, 2008 at 5:28 pm #631074
inactiveMemberI can’t resist posting this ad I saw this AM on Craigslist – which I did NOT post, btw. I swear!
I might have to hit the fest again! :)
July 12, 2008 at 6:23 pm #631075
AnonymousInactiveMrJT, do you only see ugly where there is none? I’ve lived in west seattle almost 10 years. Never heard of a street dance. Since apparently I’m the only one willing to be NR’s friend, I couldn’t answer any questions. Where is it? Is it kid friendly? Is is something you pay to get in? Is it at a certain time.
Sorry it wasn’t posted in a manner in which you didn’t find *rich*. I’ll make sure I advise her to get your approval for further questions.
Yes, I’m defending a friend. Deal with it. It’s what friends do.

http://www.westseattlefestival.com/andmore.html
Time: 8pm – mid.
Location: north stage
Ages: street all, adjacent beer garden 21+
Cost: $0 unless you buy a beer
Also says Oncore is cover band spanning several decades.

mellaw6565MemberDamn MrJT – is it really appropriate for you to attack NR personally? Give it a rest why don’t you!
July 12, 2008 at 7:13 pm #631078
JanSParticipantso, NR..if you can get away from home, come visit with me, and have a beer, and watch (or participate in) the fun..and bring the bf, if he’s around :)
July 12, 2008 at 7:26 pm #631079
AnonymousInactiveJanS – It sounds wonderful! I would really love to see Erik “goofing” off!! I happen to know someone who would absolutely love to dance in the street – My 8 year old. The only problem with that is, she’ll make me dance. Argh!!!
I’m not familiar with how it is set up. If we come to the street part (all ages), will we see you?
July 12, 2008 at 7:30 pm #631080
JanSParticipantwell, if I’m having a beer, I’ll be inside a fenced off part, but I doubt that I’ll hang in there all evening. I will probably start off there. So look there first (through the fence/over the fence? lol) I will leave there I’m sure, because the beer is expensive at these things – lol…So I’ll hang out in front of there for a while, too, looking for people I know. It gets crowded, especially when the weather is this nice. :)
July 12, 2008 at 7:31 pm #631081
JanSParticipantand the stage for the band is set up right in the middle of the street, which is blocked off at Genessee, and facing south, I imagine…so just look for the stage, and then the beer garden :)
July 12, 2008 at 7:44 pm #631082
JenVMemberbreaking my posting hiatus for you, Jan….we will see you up in the beer garden! :)
July 12, 2008 at 7:54 pm #631083
JanSParticipantohhh, fun…looking forward to it :)

AnonymousInactiveThanks GHO, surprisingly enough (or not) I forget the obvious and don’t check the home page. My bookmark is set to the forum and I get easily distracted.
July 12, 2008 at 8:34 pm #631085
charlabobParticipantNext year in the junction — for the charlabobs. Meantime, I am green with envy and that’s not my best color. :-)
July 12, 2008 at 9:29 pm #631086
ErikParticipantJan, Newres, JenV, GHO, et al – I’ll be there. I just got back from spending a few hours up there, saying “hi” to TVB at the food bank tent, talking to TR and Patrick, dunking a RCRG (first ball!), and listening to some fine creole/cajun music.
