Barry2012ParticipantLet me preface this by saying I have now had 5 phone calls with Wardrobe Cleaners and have asked 3 times to have a manager call me back-to no avail. I’ve reached out to try to come to some understanding and am REALLY frustrated.
I dropped my wedding dress at Wardrobe Cleaners on Friday. I asked for a rough estimate on the cost and was quoted $60.00-$100.00, the young lady had to ask her manager for a firm price. I asked her to call me BEFORE the dress was cleaned when she had a concrete number so I could budget accordingly.
Saturday I get the call that the total was $135.00. I thanked her and asked that they not clean my dress and I would be by to pick it up(I had planned on getting quotes from other cleaners.
10 minutes later I got a call that the dress had already been cleaned and the new total was $150.00. I asked for a manager to call me immediantly. Never received a call.
I called again this mornning and afternoon to speak to a manager. I’ve received NO apalogies for the mistake, no clarification, no offer for a solution. They simply keep telling me the dress is $150.00 and the manager is aware of the mistake.
Its frustrating that a local business has such poor customer service. I love shopping local and am really frustrated with the reaction from Wardrobe cleaners :(

MTMParticipantI had a similar experience with this place. I needed to have 6 cotton blouses laundered and called Wardrobe cleaners for a quote. I was told it would be $4.5 a blouse. I thought that was probably fair for this area so I dropped off my blouses. But when I returned for my blouses I was presented with a $72 bill. When I questioned the bill I was told that my cotton blouses had to be dry cleaned at $12ea. All of these blouses had been laundered before and never require dry cleaning. I repeatedly asked to talk to the manager but never got a call back. And of course they would not give me my blouses without payment. I was furious and contacted the BBB to complain.

datamuseParticipantFrom the reviews I’m seeing online, these are unfortunately not uncommon experiences with this business.
I’ve been going to West Seattle Cleaners (which happens to be just up the street) pretty much since I moved here 13 years ago and have always been happy with their work.
