fakefaceMemberI don’t understand why folks go out to shovel snow when it just keeps coming down. Seattleites are not educated in this type of environment and need to understand that it doesn’t matter how much you shovel when it keeps snowing. When it starts to accumalate a mixture of rain and snow, it’s going to ice up and it will feel like your shoveling concrete. Stop it already because the sound of that shovel scraping the ground gets irritating after awhile. Get in the house and find something else to do instead of making that shreeking sound.

Kayleigh2MemberPeople were getting fussed at for *not* shoveling, fakeface.
Give us a break. This is not the East Coast or the Midwest.

datamuseParticipantI’m from the east coast and spent several years in New England, and I *do* shovel while it’s still snowing, because it’s that much less weight to move when the snow finally stops.
It’s also made it possible for us to get out of our driveway and alley every day this week.
If the scraping is that annoying, turn up your stereo.

dervishParticipantCome on, don’t be thick. If its hard to shovel, its harder to shovel when there is more. If its accumulating to the point where it is burdensome, dangerous, etc, it makes perfect sense to remove what has built up so there is not twice as much later on. Besides, its winter, people are going to need to shovel. Here is the education that needs to be had: Snow falls, it has to be removed, that process makes some noise. Deal with it.

fakefaceMemberWhy don’t one of you guys come over and shovel snow out of my driveway then. I have more important things to do like go to work.

test517MemberThese guys are right, it is better to do it now that let it all build up and do it later. I grew up in a town in Montana where you were required by law to shovel you walk ways or face a pretty steep ticket.
Now on the flip side of this, I have seen people out in the middle of the snow storm trying to keep their walks clear. There is a time when it is pointless. Wait until the snow is done falling folks.

Why would I do something so stupid?

AnonymousInactiveGood one data!
It’s the law here as well test517, not to mention the right thing to do to keep people safe and out of the street.
I’m guessing a better disposition would even cause others to help out.

WesCAddleMemberIt looks like the cold outside isn’t the only “bitter” thing in West Seattle right now.

HunterGParticipantI know, I think this white stuff might be getting to some folks. but, the good thing is there seems to be a balance – there are a lot of nice folks helping each other out out there.
