ToninoParticipantFound two things in Lincoln Park today (Sunday Nov 18th), they were sitting on the grass right next to each other without anyone in sight. I won’t say what it was because it might be valuable. If you think I migh have found your stuff in the park today please shoot me a message and write me what did you loose (please describe in detail).

yaracrtoroParticipantHello Tonino,
My name is Angelo. Thank you for being so kind and posting here in the WSB about the two items that you found today at Lincoln Park. The two items are a blue leash and a dji mavic air (drone) with into his portable case. I forget them right by the grass around the Colman pool. I think today is my lucky day I have to say. This my phone number 206-910-5449. Please shoot me a text. I’m locating a the Junction.Best,
Angelo

KBearParticipantLet me guess: Your unleashed dog ran away while you were flying your drone. Both those activities are illegal in city parks.

WOW Kbear – take a chill pill and wash it down with a relaxing cup of calm down….
Do you know Angelo? Did you see them doing what you easily accuse them of?
Were you there?
Angelo (surprisingly) provided their number…Did you call before your schorchred earth response?Time to put the “initial accusations” down people. Sheesh….happy holidays, indeed.

KBearParticipantSorry if this is a duplicate post…
Maybe I was a bit judgmental, but Lincoln Park is overrun with leash law violators. I’ll admit that part of my scenario was completely hypothetical, but tell me 935: Why would you bring a drone to the park if not to fly it? Regardless, I hope Angelo gets his stuff back.November 21, 2018 at 6:09 pm #934028
KBearParticipantYeah, maybe I was a bit judgmental, but Lincoln Park is completely overrun with leash law violators. My first thought when I saw the thread topic was, “I wonder if one of the items was a dog leash?” Then I thought, “Naw, nobody even brings a dog leash to Lincoln Park!” I made up a hypothetical situation, yes, but I didn’t directly accuse Angelo of anything. I hope he gets his stuff back. But answer me this, 935: Why would you bring a drone to the park if not to fly it?

Good morning Kbear and happy Thanksgiving!
As I was rereading this thread, I came to the realization that maybe the stuff Tonino found wasn’t in fact Angelo’s…We haven’t heard boo from either… To that end, it just goes to show how quickly we can jump to conclusions…
Anyhow, I get what you’re saying about the off leash stuff. I get it. I have a dog, and yes I leash, and yes I scoop, and yes I don’t flaunt that law. But, there are several reason to explain any of Angelo’s items. The most reasonable explanations are the ones we jump to. An off leash dog and flying a drone… But we don’t know that.
Why would he have a leash with no dog? Who knows, the reason may be his, and his alone. Maybe he was on his way to pick up his pup from a sitter. Maybe his dog got out, and he was looking for it. Could be that the leash was for himself! LOL As for the drone, I have seen people carrying them on busses and in airports and hundreds of other locations without flying them. Maybe he was going to show it off, or maybe he was carrying it home. The point of this exercise is “Who Knows”
What I am hoping for in the new year is that people can put down the penchant for instant accusations, and take a breath and wait a moment for facts. To stop jumping to conclusions. Be KIND to one another, don’t let your initial feelings go negative. Give the benefit of the doubt…. Unless you’re littering in our neighborhood. Then I’m gonna call you out! (and I don’t mean youKbear :-) unless you’re the one littering!)

PonderosaParticipantIf I had a drone in the park, it could have been from a previous engagement and I didn’t want to leave it in my parked car, in case it was stolen. If that would have happened, and I reported the theft to WSB, I’d see comments saying how I should have brought it to the park with me instead of leaving it in my car.
Happy Thanksgiving!

yaracrtoroParticipantThank you, Tonino for your kindness!!
I’m not just glad because I found my stuff but because of being part of such a beautiful community where people cares about each other.
I want to explain the reasons for forgetting my stuff at the park.
Firstable, I don’t own a car, so that explains why I had the device with me. After flying my drone in a different location, my friends and I decided to go for a walk in Lincoln Park to show them the trees I planted 2 weeks ago with Friends of Lincoln Park during the green Seattle Day (LINK BELOW FOR THOSE WILLING TO HELP NEXT TIME)We were a total of 4 people and 3 dogs having fun. We decided to nest one of our dogs into another dog leash so that we could make it easier to walk and enjoy. While taking pics, my friend (who was carrying the drone) decided to put it on the ground to take a better pic, and that’s how we forgot it. I am passionate about recording each moment with friends and take pictures of everything. When we realized none of us had the drone, I immediately open my google photos app to find any clue to where we had forgotten our stuff. Et Voila !!!! I saw a pic of my friend seating the things on the ground, with that said, I returned to the location hoping to find it. While we were at the park, another friend when ahead to post on WSB and found Tonino’s post.

HappyOnAlkiParticipantI love this happy story, Angelo and Tonino!

KBearParticipantHappy Thanksgiving, 935! Did you happen to find my box of fireworks? I’m sure I left them on the picnic table. If anyone has access to a drone, maybe we can search the rest of the park.

MarjorieParticipantKBear are you the type of person that feels the need to always have the last word in any conversation?
