DuckitudeMemberAs you may know, there is a controversial set of proposals that KC Wastewater is, and I will put this bluntly, trying to ram down the community’s throat alleging that they involved us in the decision-making process, when in fact, the alternatives they offered recently were never discussed nor passed by the community BEFORE they became “THE ALTERNATIVES.”
If you really care about Puget Sound and the treasure that it is and should continue to be, please keep track and get ready to push back hard. (And I thought blitzkreigs were just history….)
Here’s the link to the ongoing discussion on this blog which is now off the sidebar list and starting to get less attention.

JoBParticipanti have been following this and this is not shaping up well for one of West Seattle’s oldest parks

DuckitudeMemberHi JoB: It may “appear” to not be shaping up well, but, IMHO, if we have the political will to push for the right solution (bigger and better and in the right place), that solution will happen. The political cost, otherwise, would be really substantial to current incumbents.
The Governor on down have made very public commitments to the health of the Sound and this band-aid approach, with underbuilt facilities which have no room for expansion (as if there aren’t more condos being built in West Seattle, etc.), if allowed, will clearly tar their reputations on the health of the Sound, not to mention the safety and health of the community in which these facilities are proposed.
So, JoB, don’t despair — lobby up! If things continue to go as KC is driving them now, we will need to push back hard. I will be establishing a blog just for that purpose soon…. unless someone else wants to do that.
