JeannieParticipantJust tried a new item that I had read about in Trader Joe’s “Fearless Flyer.” The 5-cheese Frusta, sort of a small pizza whose middle is pinched together. So good! What do you like at TJ’s (besides the free samples and sweet employees)??

PangolinPieParticipantThey have this garlic sauce in a jar that I love for adding to sauces and as a marinade. And the jar of coconut oil is a great deal (and that stuff is great for everything). I like the inexpensive wines too.

JeannieParticipantThe wines are quite good – and I believe some of the staff are specifically wine advisors. In fact, I learned from one of them that yes, there is a reason some wines are labeled “vegetarian”!

PangolinPieParticipantYou mean…some wines are NOT vegetarian??

MrsLMemberOur faves include the turkey meatballs, organic creamy tomato soup, and the hummus. We’ve recently discovered soft caramel cremes that are really smooth and delish.

JeannieParticipantPangolin Pie, I laughed when I saw the vegetarian label and thought “Oh, puh-leeze.” But, as the TJ’s wine advisor explained, winemakers sometimes use small amounts of animal-derived products, such as chitosan from shrimp, isinglass from fish bladders (!), etc. to remove proteins, yeast, and other stuff from the wine.

JayDeeParticipantInner Peas are great, just leave some for me; the butter menuiere popcorn is good too.

2 Much WhineParticipantHummus is great so is their dried seaweed. They also have (or had) yogurt covered pretzels that they couldn’t keep in stock. Their lime popsicles are only 60 calories (I think) and they rock as well. We love their feta cheese and their pickled dog eggs are divine.

trickycooljParticipantI’ve always got potstickers in the freezer from them. The veggie breakfast sausage patties are better than the name brand and less guilty than the real thing. This cowboy crunch mix I grabbed to take in the car for a ski trip was a surprise hit. Wine of course, wish our location had a bigger variety of beer but Josef Brau is only $5.99 a 6-pack and has been well received by visitors and was the winner for one of my seahawks get togethers compared to some other “name brand” micros.

JayDeeParticipantI moved here in 1996 and one of the preconditons was a TJs within driving distance, so I am TJs fan. I drove to that horrid location in Totem Lake just to field verify. Yes, the wine is good, but I believe in the saying: Friends don’t let friends drink 3 buck Chuck. Buy a Washington wine–they should be getting more.
–
The pre-made stuff can be good (Inner Peas) but it can also be heart attack city–check out the sodium load.
–
I also like the TJs Egg Whites, Jarlsberg Slices, Butternut Squash Soup (emergency ration), and the Dark Chocolate Peanut Cups…

justduckyParticipantLove those Gingeroos, soft chewy cookies, it’s hard to stop after just one cookie.
Lemon Curd- delicious on just about everything.
Cream of Portobello mushroom soup-seasonal, so you have to stock up
Kona Coffee Truffles- in the most recent flyer, taste better than Frangos.

AdmiralJanewayParticipantMochi ice cream!
February 19, 2014 at 4:47 am #804477
JTBParticipantDark chocolate and sea salt almonds.
February 19, 2014 at 5:53 am #804478
RaincityParticipantWe like the frozen tamales – chicken and the green chile. Turkey meatballs are great, the dried “just mangos” and the breakfast trail mix packets with the yogurt “chips.”

SueParticipantRight now I’m quite obsessed with the Aloo Chaat Kati Pouches (which I refer to as the “Indian Hot Pockets”) and vegetarian biryani. I also eat a lot of their vegetarian gyoza (with their sweet chile sauce), white bean hummus and japanese fried rice. In the sweets department, I eat way more than I should of their Sublime Ice Cream Sandwiches, the dark chocolate peanut butter filled cupckes and the dark chocolate bar with caramel and sea salt.
