    Smitty…

“Branch out, JoB. Challenge your beliefs.”

    Whazzup with that Dude?

i was treated to far more FOX news programming this week than a fact loving intellectual can reasonably stand…

I know it’s just theater but i don’t find it entertaining:(

as for branching out… I have been inviting you to challenge my beliefs for months now…

the trouble is that it is going to take more than rhetoric to challenge my beliefs and that is all you deliver…

if it’s written by a conservative website you buy it hook line and sinker and regurgitate it without bothering to fact check.

I am an old fashioned girl..

i even read references before spreading the net wider to fact check…

i really don’t believe “liar liar pants on fire” or “Nanananana” is a valid argument…

though i can see where you might be led to believe that… after of week of FOX i had to escape to the privacy of my room and the internet for a regular reality check on that reality program they call news.

trashing the messenger as a means of refuting a message says more about you than about the message…

which is why i bother doing all that tedious fact checking.

    Man up dude…

deliver something that makes me think…

instead of something that just makes me shake my head and fact check …

Carson’s last post was generally correct. Yes, you vote for who you share most of your opinions with.

DC has been spending more and more every year. I think it is time to cut it back. All of it.

We are overspending and one thing History shows us is that you cannot keep overspending.

Cloward and Piven might be coming into play one of these years. We will wait and see.

Dino is not the answer but neither is Patty. But I would rather put my vote to someone who will balance the check book instead of taking out another IOU.

Most of you will vote for Patty. So be it. If she wins, OK. If she doesn’t, OK. Hopefully there won’t be need of a recount.

You don’;t know if Dino knows how to balance the checkbook…no one does. He gets his numbers wrong, he shies away from definitive answers with a general ” I am not Patty Murray”. Yes, we know that..we want to know who YOU are, dimwit. So tell us how you’d do it, and don’t make it a pie in the sky scheme. But he’s slick…he doesn’t do that…because I don’t think that he really knows…and that’s damned scary!

rich, that anti-spending sentiment is exactly what republicans have been counting on for years. it’s why they ran up tremdous deficits and debt to begin with: to hamstring federal social programs.

i will give obama credit for something that may or may not have been intentional:

he has forever removed deficit spending as a tool for republicans to use to break government.

and it’s even worse than that, rich.

reagan and a democratic congress started this free trade b.s. in the ’80’s and removed import tariffs that had been in place for 200 years. now, free trade is great for millionaires and billionaires, but if foreign markets don’t reciprocate and we can’t export goods into their markets, where does that leave american workers? where does that leave small local businesses?

face down in the ditch, that’s where. to bury us even further, they call us stupid, overpaid, and lazy, blame us for the shortfall, depress our wages, and break unions.

the absence of those tariffs is what is mostly responsible for flat wage growth, deficit spending, and the national debt; and tariffs are an engine that almost every other industrial economy has that we don’t.

all over a stupid idea to make big business global – which makes americans poor.

big business was always going to be global…

the trouble is they thought they would always be in charge…

now they are busy cutting their best deal as they have always done

and to h..l with the rest of us:(

    HMCRich…

As to that fiscal responsibility thing…

how much good do you think it will do for the US to create some big austerity program that further puts the burden of the financial bailouts on the people who can least afford it?

they say you can’t get blood out of a stone…

instead of austerity.. which will net you little in a world practicing austerity… why not end the tax cuts to the uber wealthy which will net real results?

Those tax cuts didn’t provide the jobs that could have dug us out… So perhaps a fair tax burden will.. or at least tax incentives that include jobs.

It’s really simple. The cuts in any household can only go so deep. After that you have to increase income to dig your way out of a financial mess.
