ToddinWestwoodMemberJen, you should have come visited us when we lived in Los Angeles. Most beer/liquor stores down there deliver. Some ’till 2am!

SueParticipantAbout 25 years ago in NYC there was this pizzeria that if you called for a delivery, you could ask if they could also run next door and bring you a six pack and a pack of cigarettes when they brough the pizza, and they’d lay out the money for you to do that. Probably never get anyone to do it now.

AnonymousInactiveDoes that remind anyone else of the movie “Swingers”?

charlabobParticipantSue, we were in NYC about 4 years ago at the Gershwin hotel in the flatiron(?) district. We found a Chinese restaurant that did that — and advertised. I wanted to just move into the hotel permanently. Sounds like we’ve got another possible business. (NR, do you think the Martini Bar could deliver — and pick up pizza and wings on the way?)
Cities always have programs for driving drunks home — how about driving booze to potential drunks? Much lower risk :-)

AnonymousInactivecharla – I LOVE that idea!!! How many times are people hangin’ out at home and run out of beer/wine/cocktails? They’ve already had a few, so shouldn’t be driving! It’s a fantastic idea!!! That seems like a pretty small start-up. I already have a car.
So, who needs something to drink?

TrickParticipantSue,
I know of a place like that in West Seattle, although I wouldn’t post it publicly because I like the family and they’re small but reliable and the nicest folks.
NR, I’d like a good Manhattan with a splash of Amerretto….I’ll pay twice the going rate!
