You can help! Tents, tarps, duffels being collected in West Seattle for Nepal earthquake survivors

While many people’s minds are on helping the Pelly Place fire victims (here’s the latest on that), there’s one other donation drive, involving different kinds of items, that we wanted to tell you about quickly, as it’s time-sensitive. West Seattleite Chris Mackay is collecting tents, tarps, and duffels for the earthquake survivors in Nepal, to be shipped out on Monday. If you have a tent or tarp in good condition, you can drop it under the canopy (WSB photo above) at 3250 46th SW, which is two houses north of the north side of Madison Middle School.

P.S. Here’s more about the overall relief effort in which Chris is involved.

Chris and her non-profit “Crooked Trails” are amazing folks to say the least. I wish I had some tarps or tents to donate!

I have new tarps to bring down. Can you please describe preferred duffels? Backpacks, bags? Do they need zippers? Let me know i have numerous bags.

Yes! I have some brand-new backpacks too that I was going to sell at the garage sale this weekend but I’d be happy to donate them

I could donate a tent, but just wondering, how will they be transported to the right people, those who need them? Must involve a lot of coordination and dollars.

I have a large, floored tent with a screened “veranda” to donate. Shall I bring it by on Wednesday for shipping? Or can you re-direct to another organization?

Hi – I doubt the organizer will be checking in on comments here, but I do know their shipment was supposed to go out tomorrow, so I am guessing Wednesday will be too late. If you can find contact info on Chris’s website for crookedtrails.org – you’ll find more about their relief efforts – Tracy

I forgot to drop off our small tent — morning drop off OK?

I have a nice big family size tent to donate. Is it too late? Have you already shipped?

I have a big tent that I can donate. Is it still possible?

Sorry, comment time is over.
