If you haven’t already seen this on our partner site White Center Now: An aquarium store in WC is under orders to move, fast, because its landlord says the building is being foreclosed on. They have thousands of fish – and nowhere to go. Read the story here.

That sucks! Barefoot Bruce is a classic. His fish are the only ones that seem to live. I hope they find a spot fast. Crappy landlord for not keeping them in the loop. What a douche.

I don’t know anything about aquariums but from the looks of that photo – not a great place to be during an earthquake! Looks like it would be water, broken glass and fish everywhere. I wish the business the best though.

Many buildings are sold with tenants occupying the premises and the lease is acknowledged and honored.
What is there about the foreclosure process that demands
    that a tenant must suffer?

    What financial institution is foreclosing?
Did it receive a taxpayer-funded bailout?

This is an incredible store in our immediate neighborhood. I found just want I needed at this friendly store when a water pump went out and I needed a new one.
The folks there are very friendly and helpful. This is terrible news. I hope they can find some other place to locate their business. The more different businesses we have the richer we all are for the diversity.

This is so sad to hear. We love visiting the mudpuppies and buying stuff for our small tank. I hope they get to stay put when the building is sold.

B&D has been a rock for teachers in West Seattle participating in the Salmon in the Schools program. Their reach far exceeds the customers coming through the door.

Wow, I remember the store when it was by the Fred Meyer that is no longer there on Roxbury. It seems unfair that he has to deal with this.

Yes, so sad to hear this. Calling out to the universe to please help relocate this little treasure in White Center. B & D Aquarium and its cast of eccentric characters are deserving of so much better. Crisis is a crossroad, I am hoping this brings an even better situation for them.

Sorry, comment time is over.
