Video: Marty Riemer’s first post-announcement podcast

So what REALLY happened to bring Marty Riemer back to The Mountain, 15-plus months after they booted him? This morning, that topic came up while we were visiting Riemer’s West Seattle-basement-based podcast – the guests were past and present co-workers Shawn Stewart (also a West Seattleite) and John Fisher. And as you can hear in our top clip, Riemer offered an assessment you may not have heard before. As we reported Sunday night/Monday morning, he returns to the station on the afternoon shift next Monday, and will continue with his podcast. The station’s made some other tweaks too, involving the music, as you’ll hear in another clip after the jump:

If you missed this mention in our earlier reports, Riemer’s previous on-air partner, Jodi Brothers (who also lives in this area), has a new job too – but on a different station; she’ll be part of the Bob Rivers Show when it starts up on Oldies 95.7 this spring.

as shawn observed in this video from the podcast, a lot of us cannot think of one without the other: marty–the mountain. marty–the mountain.
and for whatever it’s worth, and whatever happened behind closed doors before, during or after marty was originally let go, this news of him coming back starting next week makes me suggest the following combo:
marty–a radio institution. marty–a radio institution.

there’s no denying when someone’s good at what they do.
this guy’s it and i know i, for one, feel proud we have him pod casting from right here in our own community.

the mountain’s lucky to have you back and the world of radio’s a better place with your voice coming through those afternoon airwaves.

Glad to have Marty back. I miss Jodi too. They really made me laugh and not take life too seriously. That is so true about the music. It just sounded really tired. Come to think of it, I don’t think I have listened to the Mountain for about a year and tuned in again the last few days. Welcome back Marty! We love you.

Sorry, comment time is over.
