I can use a map to find the straight line distance between the West Seattle and downtown Seattle docks, but the Water Taxi route curves. Does anyone know if the distance variance is enough to be stated in tenths of a mile?
It depends on what you need the data for. I don’t think it curves too much, and in any case the day to day route depends on other traffic in the bay. BTW, both Bing and Google Maps allow you to measure multi-point routes if you want to measure something other than a straight line. Just right-click on where you want to start the route, select “measure distance” from the menu and keep dropping points along your curve.
