interesting that you bring up “The Family”It’s something that just came under my radar in the last week or so….here’s a link:

    http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2009/07/21/c_street/

for those who care to look further, just google “C Street The Family” and you’ll be reading for a while. Scary to me, I must say. And people vote for them…wow.

But then, early this morning I saw an interview that Chris Mathews did with Tom Delay, that upright, honest fellow, who was saying that Obama needs to produce his birth certificate. TOM DELAY, that scumbag, is a “birther”. And we’re gonna make him more of a celebrity on “Dancing with the Stars”? Give me an effing break.

These people call themselves educated? Sometimes I wonder.

Lest you think I don’t have feelings about the dem side, I think Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi need to go away. So much more could be accomplished without their negative voices.

One sits back and shakes one’s head at one’s government.

Rich, as long as you and other repugs show absolutely no embarassment about the perfidy and dishonstey propagated by the people of your ilk, you cannot expect to be taken seriously. At this point, the only “conseratives for whom I have any respect are those honest enough to say, “I’ve got mine — screw the rest of you.

I repeat, if progressives on these forums want to have anything resembling interesting debates, stick to Sound Politics http://www.soundpolitics.com (right wing version of http://www.horsesass.org.)

I love it. A liberal does not take the conservative seriously at any time. ignorant, foolish, old fashioned, greedy, corrupt, racist, etc. What has changed?

Maybe, just for fun I will bring up former communist turned conservative David Horowitz. A true neo-con.

This will get your blood boiling.

(Maybe I should post the link?!!)

I suggest you read parts 1 through 4 after you have read 5.

Charlabob. Not all conservatives are corporatists. Many are capitalists. I have said numerous times that I don’t trust the corporations either but I do like free market principles. Some times they do not mix well as we have seen. There are plenty of greedy bastards out there. I am not one of them.

For our green friends, you will see corruption and greed come to light in the carbon credit field.

Conversely, I do not want government in charge of everything. I have asked this before, how much more of yourself do you want to give to the government?

Freedom isn’t free and the myth that we have a lot of it is damn expensive.

JoB, where do you stand politically? Do you consider yourself a centrist? A moderate? Mostly I get a sense that labels don’t fit you and right leaning label are swept away. I am truly curious. You truly have me baffled.

I myself am just beginning the journey of a “ultra conservative” as you coined it with a few exceptions. I actually like paying for good roads, police, jails, education and a few other things. I am not anti-tax. I and you too should be against excessive taxation.

If its fascism you are speaking of, then add to your collection Jonah Goldberg’s book Liberal Fascism. At least you will know what the other side might be thinking. It is heavy reading and I read it in small doses. Although not political, I had the same issue with Frank Herbert’s Dune or Tolkien’s The Hobbit.

    HMCRich..

i have no idea where i would fall in political labeling these days.

somebody must have a facebook quiz for that… there is a facebook quiz that reduces everything to the lowest common denominator.

Today i am disillusioned.. with my party.. with the political process… with the ability of most to recognize a reasoned argument when they see one…

and with my own ability to surmount all of that and more…
