“Engaging Your Community Through Photojournalism!”
Take our Photojournalism workshop to earn service learning hours! Learn how to connect with your community through photography and tell its story.
Make new friends, go out photographing together, and come away with images and prints that you can be proud of and share with your community. You’ll learn the foundation skills of photojournalism, in-camera shooting, composition, and an introduction to Adobe Lightroom, in order to make beautiful photographs that share what matters most to you!

This program focuses on community building. Learn how to use photography to feel empowered, build confidence, and share your stories. Choose community based topics that resonate with you, and explore them visually through photojournalism. The workshop will conclude with a community showcase.

Service learning is for teens ages 14-19. Registration is required.

This program is part of the Library’s 2017 Summer of Learning program, Blast Off to Space! The Library is offering hundreds of free programs and activities for children and teens to keep youth engaged in reading and learning all summer long.

Southwest Branch 206-684-7455 or Ask a Librarian.

Space is limited at library events. Please come early to make sure you get a seat. Due to the fire code, we can’t exceed the maximum capacity for our rooms.
