Anti-Hate Alaska Junction works to reduce hate in our neighborhood by providing Bystander Intervention Workshops.

Visit our website at www.antihatealaskajunction.wordpress.com for information about hate in Seattle and in the US.

In this session, the bystander intervention workshop leader reviews brain science–including the reality of emotional responses, their effect on brain chemistry, and the resulting triggering of our fight/flight/freeze survival responses.

Participants apply new knowledge and practice new skills by running scenarios of hate-based interactions with the goals of de-escalating the situations and supporting the target. Working as an aggressor, a target, or an intervening bystander, participants learn by doing, not by listening.

The next workshop is Sunday, September 15, 2019, from 2 to 4 pm at Admiral Congregational Church, 4320 SW Hill Street, Seattle. There will also be an opportunity to have an extra practice session on Sunday, October 6.

The workshop is FREE, but donations are accepted.  To register, email antihate3@gmail.com or just walk in.
