Emerald Water Anglers is proud to be hosting our first series of fly-tying classes. This first, three-class series will be intro to fly tying, covering all the basics of tools, materials, and techniques that you need to know to get started in fly tying.

SESSION 1 | 10/21, 6:30-8 pm: Tying the Wooly Bugger. Learn to tie one of the most classic and versatile fly patterns out there! In this class, we’ll get familiar with our tools and learn skills like tying in thread and palmering hackle.

SESSION 2 |10/28, 6:30-8 pm: Tying the Pheasant Tail nymph and Elk Hair Caddis. In session 2 we’ll cover proper body proportions for tying nymphs, and practice skills like ribbing, dubbing bodies, tying in legs, and stacking and tying in hair-wings.

SESSION 3 | 11/4, 6:30-8 pm: Tying the Adams. In our 3rd and final session, we will tie the Adams dry fly. Techniques for this fly include dubbing bodies, tying in and wrapping hackles, and tying in wings.
