COFFEE: Starbucks goes drive-through only; here are the places nearest shuttered stores to get your walk-up coffee instead

That’s the sign on the door at the West Seattle Junction Starbucks, one of the stores now closed because the company’s gone (mostly) drive-through for at least a few weeks, as explained here. The only two drive-throughs in our area are Fauntleroy/Avalon and White Center (16th/100th). But there are other walkup coffee shops near most of the shuttered stores, such as:

MORGAN JUNCTION – Youngstown Coffee Co. (north), Caffe Ladro (south)
ALKITop Pot (next door), Ampersand (east)
ADMIRALFreshy’s (southwest), West Seattle Grounds (northwest)
THE JUNCTIONFlying Apron (west), Easy Street Café (west), Lula (northwest), Hotwire (north)

Get links/addresses to most of those coffee shops (and others that are open in other WS areas!) via our frequently updated restaurants/beverage-businesses list. (Who’s missing but open? Let us know – westseattleblog@gmail.com!)

NOTE: Again, the mentions above are ONLY THE COFFEE SHOPS CLOSEST TO SHUTTERED STARBUCKS STORES – West Seattle has MANY others still open and most of them are in our food/beverage-biz list. (If they’re not, tell them to send us info ASAP!)

They’re also on the list as are the others. This very specific post is just mentioning the spots CLOSEST to the shuttered SBUX.

Please. Listen. Stay home. Make coffee@ home. Donate $5 to your local coffee shop to show support… But going out for coffee is a luxury, just like going to the bar for a drink. Think of others… This is the problem.

Well said.  People should only be leaving for something absolutely essential right now.  Now just because you want coffee or your out of your favorite food.  The more diligent we all are the faster we will be on the other side.

There is no safe way to do take out or pick up.  In the Army we trained for NBC.  Where are all the prior service here?  There are no decontamination sites set up.  People are going about like they are on a holiday.  Let this be a record for the future epidemiologists to study.  I’m not panicked.  I am prepared.  For those of you who don’t take this seriously, then shame on you.

Completely agree. Going out for coffee is entirely frivolous. Encouraging folks to go out for coffee is directly counter to what the governor has requested.

Keep it up and the restrictions will soon become mandatory.

As of mid-morning today, the embedded Starbucks in the Target store in Westwood Village was still taking walk-in service.

I should add the descriptor, “company-operated,” regarding the closures. In-stores are not usually company-operated.

I ordered lunch from Spring House Thai Kitchen via GrubHub on Thursday, so I’m assuming they’re still open. It was fantastic, as usual.

Starbucks, think about the risk you are putting on your staff.  Corporate staff are working from home. Time to respect all of your staff and not the bottom $$$$$. shut down.

This morning I saw a LONG PACKED line of people in front of TOP POT on ALKI to get donuts or coffee at the window.  I saw several people COUGHING out into the space of other people.  THIS IS NOT SAFE: Get Real, stop being so selfish that you are putting others at risk including the worker in the TOP POT WINDOW>  .  I had to walk into the street with my 2 children into traffic in order to AVOID having to walk through that CROWD Of people in front of TOP POT> This is a very poor choice to allow this to continue.

Sorry, comment time is over.
