SUNDAY: How to be part of ‘Question Week’

It’s been said that it’s far more important to have the right questions, than to have the right answers.

Tomorrow, you have a chance to do something unique with your question(s):

In honor of Albert Einstein‘s upcoming birthday, this will be Question Week, and local organizers have announced:

To launch Question Week locally, Red Cup Espresso, 4451 California Ave SW, is allowing use of their deck on Sunday, March 13th from 10 AM – 2 PM, where everyone can come to have their photos professionally taken by West Seattle’s own Filmateria when they share their questions. We will have some starter exercises to align with the Sunday West Seattle Farmers Market, and there will be the option to participate via social media.

For more about Question Week, read on:

Seattle and Washington State students have an opportunity to use their inquisitive natures productively, experience a new way to learn and to be featured in Warren Berger’s “Question Week.”

It seems we never have time to step back and ask the kind of big, beautiful questions we should be asking—in our schools, in our businesses, in our daily lives. Therefore, Warren Berger (author of “A More Beautiful Question”), in partnership with leading organizations and programs focused on questioning, is sponsoring QUESTION WEEK (running from March 13 to March 19 in 2016 with a nod to master questioner Albert Einstein’s birthday on Monday, March 14), designed to raise awareness of the power and value of questioning.

Whether you’re a student, group of students, friends, family, or a solo questioner, this is a great opportunity to grow! So – please come share your questions! This is the key to making Question Week come alive!

be sure to add #yourschoolname or #yourfamilyname or #yourorganizationname

—as well as the locally dedicated Facebook page or nationally dedicated Facebook page — to connect with other questioners around the world during Question Week.

We want to share your exercises and results—including photos taken at your Q-storms, lists of questions generated, favorite question of the day.

If you’ve come up with a Beautiful Question of your own, or a “How Might We” question for your organization or school, we will help you tell the world about it.

During Question Week, an ongoing Twitter stream will be featured, and as the week winds down, it will all be pulled altogether in one place, via Storify — so you can see your own Beautiful Question there with all the others.

Besides students, we want to encourage individuals, parents, teachers and community leaders to participate.

Students, Teachers and Schools –
Organize a question-related group activity (or multiple activities!) during Question Week.

Be creative: feel free to put a fresh spin on an existing exercise—or come up with a completely original one. (And send your results.)

Parents, Families, Friends, Communities –
Some of the same activities and exercises that work in the classroom can also be done elsewhere. And here’s another activity, perfect for families, friends and communities: work together on formulating one big, shared “mission question” to explore and work on together! “How might we…?”

Individuals –
Question Week is a perfect time to step back and ask yourself some big, meaningful questions — about your life, your work, your passion and purpose.
You can use questioning to try to get pesky little things done or overcome big fears. And here’s how you can formulate and then follow your own personal “Beautiful Question.”

Question Week is an endeavor to briefly focus attention on the importance of asking / encouraging more questions, particularly in our schools, and we really appreciate your support! As I like to say, “Knowing the answers will help you in school. Knowing how to question will help you in life.” I hope everyone will take a moment to stop and question something important this week. http://questionweek.com

Sorry, comment time is over.
