banglesMember6:30 and still nobody except two kids who were kinda rude. Is everyone just doing the daytime Junction thing these days? We’re pretty new to WS and up to our ears in candy.
November 1, 2009 at 1:51 am #681363
JenVMemberwe had a pretty steady stream up in Arbor Heights
November 1, 2009 at 2:12 am #681364
JenVMembertyping that must have been the kiss of death. no more here for awhile. damn it all.
November 1, 2009 at 2:24 am #681365
bunnypugMemberJust (7ish) had our first two groups in Delridge neighborhood. Probably 12 kids altogether. I have noticed that the To’Ters start later than when I was a pup.

WSBKeymasterDepends on where you are. In our Upper Fauntleroy neighborhood, they’re usually pretty scarce, but that’s probably got a lot to do with our oddly laid-out neighborhood too.
In some of the more central and northern WS neighborhoods where houses are spaced and placed more uniformly, with small front yards, lining cozy streets that stretch for blocks, I’ve seen huge crowds in years gone by. Gotta go up to Skeleton Theatre in the next hour and expecting to see tons in that part of North Admiral.
Meantime, here we have had … ONE, as of 7:25 pm. I think I hear voices in the distance …

banglesMemberWe’ve had just a few more. Pretty light I’d say. Please, come rescue me from the mini-snickers. I grow weaker by the moment.
November 1, 2009 at 2:59 am #681368
GenHillOneParticipantWe had dribbled down to 5 last year after several rip-roaring earlier years. Tonight? We’re over 50 so far!
November 1, 2009 at 3:14 am #681369
HomerParticipantWow, glad I got that mortgage to buy candy for our neigbhorhood! We’ve had 58 already and it’s only 8:15pm! Last year we got 77. Anyone want to donate their candy bowl to the Admiral area? ;-)
November 1, 2009 at 3:21 am #681370
banglesMemberSo, how late do kids usually trick-or-treat around the Badmiral area?
November 1, 2009 at 3:25 am #681371
HomerParticipant“Badmiral”???? Is that the spooky name for this place at Halloween? If so, niiiiiiiice!!! It’s slowed way down now at 8:25 but for a Sat night. I would have figured longer…eh, more for me!
November 1, 2009 at 3:30 am #681372
AdmiralJanewayParticipantI just had a couple of kids come up to my door. They had the “end of the night” strategy – hoping to score on candy. It worked on me. Both went away with a handful of candy.

cathywMemberIn “Upper Alki” we had two groups – a total of five kids. We have leftover Reese’s, KitKats and Snickers. I wish some of those “end of the night” kids would come by.
November 1, 2009 at 3:55 am #681375
shihtzuParticipantWe had a lot more this year than last year on Genessee Hill.
November 1, 2009 at 4:43 am #681376
sam-cParticipantwe had about the same amount as last year. 20 ish kids. in 7 or so groups. think alot of people are going to parties instead
November 1, 2009 at 5:24 am #681377
rykriteMemberWe didn’t have as many as in other years, but we probably had 40 kids in our SeaView neighborhood. We actually got rid of all of our candy….only to have our six year old bring in a haul of it. :-)
November 1, 2009 at 6:29 am #681378
BonnieParticipantWe actually had more come this year at our house in Fauntlee Hills. Not a lot though. I counted 11 groups and a total of about 35 kids.
November 1, 2009 at 2:51 pm #681379
grrParticipantGatewood..next to nobody :(((
November 1, 2009 at 3:19 pm #681380
JoBParticipantI have no idea how many we had. Trick or treaters really upset the dogs so i put a bin of snickers by the mailbox and lit it with a flashlight. it lasted less than 20 minutes. We didn’t see who took it, but they took the bin, the candy and the flashlight:(
they had to have had a knife handy since i had ziptied everything to the chain link fence.
trick or treat was both at my house:(
November 1, 2009 at 4:16 pm #681381
DunnoParticipantJoB,
Do you think Mcginn or Mallahan did it? My hunch it was that x anchor woman Hutchinson!
Ran out of candy at my house, at least 100 came by 3x’s I’ve ever seen. Weather couldn’t been better.
November 1, 2009 at 4:47 pm #681382
KenParticipant50 to 70 here. Some of them tall enough to be high school basketball players.
I recognized most as neighborhood kids many of whom I had fixed their bikes.
a handful of fruit gummies left out of 3 cash n carry big bags.
November 1, 2009 at 6:06 pm #681383
JoBParticipantdunno…
I wish there was a political motive:( it just made me sad.
i guess if i want to do halloween next year i will sit by the gate…
November 1, 2009 at 6:10 pm #681384
datamuseParticipantWe’ve never gotten any in Highland Park in the decade I’ve lived here…
November 1, 2009 at 6:17 pm #681385
luckymom30ParticipantAt many houses our daughter was only the 3rd tricker or treater so people poured the candy into her bag. Glad we did the Juntion funtion, what great costumes we saw my favorite was Colonel Sanders, the chicken and the egg.
We had only 3 trick or treaters all night.
November 1, 2009 at 7:32 pm #681386
HomerParticipantIrukandji….HA, that was too funny, wish I had thought of that! Nothin’ like pulling a bit o’ Robin Hood on Halloween! Hehehehe
