AlecParticipantWe recently got engaged (only days ago), yeah!
We are hoping for a NOV ’08 wedding with the ceremony at a local West Seattle Church (already have a church in mind).
My question is:
What are some good places to have reception in West Seattle? We are fairly price conscious.
Thanks!

CroweMemberI think this all depends on how many guests and food… your style. It’s tough having a wedding in winter only because it’s so cold. Just means you may be spending a little more. Wedding and reception in same place? that’s another thing to consider.
If you have a good friend with a cool house, that can be wonderful. Camp Long has a facility. Old Lodge kinda place. The YMCA?? What about the church. Do they have a reception area? They sometimes give a discount if using the church and reception area, also if there is a wedding there the same day, you might be able to share decorations.
Congratulations, may love shine on you always.

JeraldParticipantThe Alki Bathhouse has an interesting space. Of course, there’s Salty’s, which probably isn’t cheap, but they do have flexible spaces on the lower floor.

AnonymousInactiveFauntleroy Hall is beautiful and has more than one options – though I’m not sure of the price.

JanSParticipantI second the Alki bath house…have a friend who is getting married this evening there (it’s a surprise wedding – guests think it’s just an engagement party). If you want to have alcohol there, there are permits that you have to get.
Another friend is getting married next weekend, and having her reception at Alki Homestead. She has rented the whole place, so will be closed to the public. They will provide dinner for everyone, and are even allowing her to put a dance floor down. Again, alcohol has to be discussed with them.
And the Hall at Fauntleroy is lovely. The guys who run Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes Catering, located there, can help with your questions (maybe talk with Carol)

karenParticipantAlso, check out Youngstown Cultural Art Center, The Sanctuary (an old church near Hiawatha playfield) or Highland Park Improvement Club. Also, the community centers, Alki Masonic Hall, VFW Hall and the large log building in White Center park,

BonnieParticipantI think Camp Long would be a great place for a reception. It is $40 an hour (I think??) and has a kitchen and you can get a liquor license for a fee.
The West Seattle Golf Course is also somewhere to check out.

JanSParticipantKaren…funny…I live just down the street from The Sanctuary at Admiral, and totally forget about it. It’s a beautiful place, and really, their rates aren’t too bad…

swimcatMemberCongratulations! I would recommend the Hall at Fauntleroy. We had a beautiful reception there and it was so easy because you have to use Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes for catering (trust me, you’ll be happy that it’s one less decision to make and their food is awesome!). Tables, chairs, linens are provided, and their alcohol policy was very reasonable I thought. There is plenty of parking and bathrooms, and the upstairs room is beautiful. Wherever you have the reception, there are tons of ways to save money and still have a fun day you’ll never forget. Good luck!

KeithMemberI’d never even heard of the Hall at Fauntleroy. Looks nice! According to their website, they’ll be having an open house March 5.
