luckymom30ParticipantSo what are the prices of Tony’s trees? Thought we were going to IKEA instead we might get a permit and cut our own tree this year instead of paying $40+ for a tree.

JenVMemberI miss the days of getting my $5 Charlie Brown xmas tree from Chubby and Tubbys. Tony’s is great, but the flocking thing really freaks me out.
I am looking for a small, fake, pre-lit Xmas tree, if anyone is upgrading this year.

MargLMemberYeah – flocking is pretty weird, right up there with using old lead tinsel in my book.
Plus then you can’t yard waste the tree – flocked trees can only go in the garbage.

WSBKeymasterWe’ll be doing a Christmas tree price check as soon as everybody is open, probably this weekend, another annual WSB tradition. Tony’s is often toward the higher side but I believe they cut the trees themselves, and of course they’re a local, family-owned business, etc. etc. etc.
Trees also have arrived at TrueValue and RiteAid. Holy Rosary lot opens Saturday behind Admiral Safeway. West Seattle Nursery should have theirs shortly if they don’t already.

hapMemberPssst…McLendon’s Hardware in White Center is *the* place to get your tree. There’s usually a coupon for $5 off published in early December, and the trees are already the cheapest around.
I moved out of WS a couple of months ago, and will probably take the ferry over just to get a tree at McLendon’s.
And yes, I do miss West Seattle.

NW Home DesignersMemberI am truly a picky tree girl! I have gone to Tony’s every year and this year just to check things out, we price shopped them. We are getting a 7′ Noble Fir and Tony’s was $1 less at $79.00. Not only are they really fresh trees but I must say their people there are very nice and helpful. I just tell them exactly what I want and if we can’t find it, they happily upwrapped another tree (this has only happened once in the past as we ALWAYS find one that is perfect). Thanks Tony’s!!

me on 28th Ave SWParticipantFor our tree we leave West Seattle and head north to MJD Distributors Garden Center (formed Chubby and Tubby crew). This year a Noble fir between 5′-8′ is $22.99. There generally is a flat spot (put against wall), crooked top (cover with angel) or a thin area (dangling icicle ornament)for that price but we accept the challenge and work around it; it’s never all three! Non-sheared Douglas firs $12.99 for any size, sheared Douglas firs $16.99 any size. Premium trees are more, but we’ve never had to pay for premium just to get a good looking tree. We have never been disappointed and the employees there are really nice. 206-391-4058, 17212 Aurora Ave N Shoreline, WA 98133 (if using GPS).

hollyplaceParticipantWe went to WS Nursery today and came home with a nice looking old school Noble fir – 7ft for $54.99. Nice trees, more than I like to pay but that is city living.

flowerpetalMemberWe were at West Seattle Nursery last night and picked up a beautiful tree. I am very excited! My tree will be decked out with vintage decorations this weekend. I am foregoing the large bulb lights for the first time and replaced them with LED strings from McClendons. I am hoping to get some of the same effect that I want with a vintage tree.
It would be fun to have a page here at WSB where we could post Christmas Tree pictures.
