I’d love to hear experiences from those who have attended/been involved with summer programs at West Seattle Montessori or Blazing Trails at Pathfinder.

I’m looking for summer programs for my son, who is currently in kindergarten at Schmitz Park and I’m considering both of these. Thank you!

I just can not say enough good things about blazing trails. My son has attended their after school and summer program for 3 1/2 years. I can not imagine a more dedicated, professional, skilled, kind, creative …. Group of folks. they offer a wide array of daily activities so kids can settle into whatever strikes their fancy. my son loves the indoor/ outdoor games lead by the beloved staff person “Blacky”. In the summer the kids can bring their own bikes, scooters etc. The play area is expansive. they have weekly field trips that the kids love. The program is based on the values of play, fun, respect, cooperation, safety. The staff are dedicated , kind and top notch. All of the staff have been their for many many years, there is virtually no turn over.

simply said, Amazing Staff, Amazing program !

KK50- This is so great to hear! I actually signed up both of my kids for Blazing Trails this past week. (My younger daughter will be entering kindergarten.) Thank you!

although it’s been some time since my kids attended the summer program at Blazing Trails, I heartily concur with KK50! Great program, great staff, and the kids all seem to love it there.

My son loves Blazing Trails and comes home happy and exhausted. He’s interested in a wide variety of the activites and there are plenty of days when I pick him up that I need to wait until he’s finished with an activity. Excellent staff and varied actvities. I think he’s participated in just about every one of them; he loves the outdoor activities, but gets just as excited about creating with recyclables and learning new card games or crafts. I can’t say enough good things about them.

SOunds like you may have already chosen Blazing Trails but if you still have some time on your calendar, I can’t say enough about the summer camps at West Seattle Montessori. My kids have been in them for several years and always have a blast. Their favorites are the Seattle Sun ones, the Water Ways ones and Kids in the Kitchen. I like how reasonably priced they are, and how flexible they are with regards to timing, before and after care, etc… Just my two cents!
