elgregoMemberCait – I live at 24th and Holden too. :)
I’ve had Olympic before. It’s ok, just not my preferred style. Pizza Hut and Papa John’s are only OK when I’m broke or really, really, really drunk.

CaitParticipantAh… the drunk factor.
I like doughy crust – is that kinda what Olympic has going on? Represent for 24th and Holden! *woot woot!* :)

FranciParticipantWhen Pagliacci first opened in WS, I was living at the corner of California and Othello – I received a mailing from them advertising delivery – when I tried to order a pizza to be delivered I was told by the person on the phone that Fauntleroy was the boundary and houses beyond that were not in ‘desirable or safe’ neighborhoods. I don’t give them my business.
My favs are Pegasus and Spiros.

JenVMemberalright, looks like I am going to have to give Lucianos a try. I just can’t wait until Zeke’s opens – I used to work near the one in Belltown- they don’t usually have good slice options (not everyone likes pepperoni, y’know!) but their whole pizzas are great- and the salads are amazing. Given their location, they shouldn’t have the crazy delivery restrictions.

WSBKeymasterThe whole thing about “desirable” neighborhoods is just nuts. West Seattle of all places – as a neighborhood in transition, growth, change, we have poverty steps away from riches, good steps away from not so good, and lots of people working hard to make things better. While we live in a ratty little bungalow, we have million-dollar view homes within the same block in two directions. So Pagliacci’s losing out on them as well as us and whoever else they choose not to serve here, although at the time of all those links I posted, it was the “seven-minute rule” or something like that, which we all thought was nuts given the fact other pizza places from that far north (barely even two miles!!!!) or further manage to deliver pizza in great shape.

ellenaterMemberI totally agree, keymaster. hehehe. It’s fun to say “keymaster”. And Pagliacci is really good but not exclusively good. Not so good that one would completely overlook their dumb delivery.
And JenV, I HATE pepperoni!!!!

JenVMemberellenater, you just gave me a Ghostbusters flashback!
are you the keymaster?
I am the gatekeeper of Zuhl!

mellaw6565MemberTR – we got a similar spiehl from Pagliacci’s 2 years ago when I moved into Highland Park. It really turned me off and haven’t ordered from them since – I’d rather drive all the way down to Pegasus.
One of the reasons we started using Luciano’s is because this area of town seems to be the “dead zone” for upscale pizza. We haven’t tried Olympia yet now that they’re in the neighborhood, but I think it’s because we’ve become so partial to Luciano’s food, which we really like.
JenV – Zekes in Belltown is amazing – both pizza and salads. I hope this location lives up to that. I also like that the location in Belltown has gone to bicycle delivery for environmental reasons. Reminds me of Korea.

AnonymousInactiveTried both Amante and Olympia. Thought they were fine but not great. Went back to Luciano’s. Also for not as expensive but still decent back-up, A Pizza Mart on 35th and Roxbury (not to be confused w/pizza time on 35th) has a good greek pizza. Salad too and they have always been exceptionally nice.

JenVMemberI did not know about the bicycle delivery. that is too cool…

DunnoParticipantNobody makes a Pizza around here like my favorite,
Clover Leaf Pizza on 6th ave near the Narrows Bridge in Tacoma. Its a one of a kind crispy kinda crust.
In Seattle, my fave is Toms Special at Pegasus on Alki. Spiro’s is good, NorthLake on Lake Union used to be a favorite, but past two visits have dissapointed.

datamuseParticipantWhen I first moved to Highland Park, I used to drive all the way to the Junction to pick up at Pagliacci’s, but I don’t anymore. These days, the Mr. and I drive over to Georgetown for Stellar Pizza. They don’t deliver, but I love that place and have been going there since it was Stella’s. YUM!

JeraldParticipantWho delivers to Fauntleroy, anyone know?
October 5, 2008 at 2:52 am #642220
ellenaterMemberwell Lucianos does. And they are good. In fact, I just finished eating the rest of it :)
and JenV, that reminds me of the scene in Old School where Will Ferrel goes streaking down the street. No idea why…
