Aside from Fatburger (that isn’t open) what is the local correlative to Five Guys Burgers? A neighbor suggested Red Mill, I think Zippy’s. None of the nearby (sorry White Center) or other chains are near either the Admiral Junction or even The Junction.

An out of town guest asked where the nearest burger place like 5 guys was ; the nearest Five Guys are in Northgate or the Landing in Renton. Is the new Zippy’s large enough to keep people with the “food stare” from forcing you out the door (like at the 16th ave location.)

I like Laboratory Lunchbox, but don’t want to feed a 13 y.o. $14 hamburgers, nor $4 Mickey Dees.

Down by Costco (strip mall behind it with the Starbucks) there’s a place called Burger Madness, they have a $7 lunch special and a whole menu full of different burger varieties for around $5-7 (w/o fries), crinkle fries (they’re not special really), but they have shakes, bubble tea and beer on tap (if you’re not on lunch break like I usually am!). Their Yelp reviews don’t do them justice but its a good solid middle of the road burger joint not too far off the bridge. There’s some seating but it fills quick during weekday lunch hours.

I also like Blue Moon in Fremont but I believe they have other locations… Maybe Queen Anne? Not particularly close though.

Yes, the new Zippy’s is much larger and has a lot more seating. It’s like a real restaurant now. And the food is still awesome.

WHAT is ‘the food stare’ (?) One more in industrial area south of Costco off of 4th So. & So. Michigan/Marginal is KatsuBurger. They advertise a huge one, The Mt Fuji. They have sweet potato or reg fries with original seasonings not found other places.(curry or nori).I love their ginger shake. I also second Burger Madness just north of Costco. Their menu offerings remind me of Red Robin. Awesome peanutbutter shake.

Mmmm Katsu Burger! Owned by the same guy as Mashiko’s at the Junction. I try to keep it off my lunch break radar only because its so delicious (and huge for me) that I end up in a food coma in the office. Might have to go for it soon….

Normally the food stare is when food is brought to a table of waiting diners, everyone will stop talking, and stare at incoming food until it arrives on the table.

In the old Zippy’s or places like Circa, the food stare is abnormal and unreleived. The waiting, yet-to-be-fed patrons wait uncomfortably in a line and stare at each order of food exactly like hungry hyenas waiting for the lion to finish. It is uncomfortable to eat even a Zippy’s burger in these conditions.

A neighbor mentioned Katsu burgers to me as we’ll, and it is freeway or excuse me, bridge close by…
