furryfacesParticipantFor those that didn’t know, Nickelsville has a central storage area for donated pet food, litter, etc. When residents get some food or litter from the central area they use plastic bags, a bowl, etc.
Nickelsville pet clients have shared with us that they need something to store their litter and dry pet food in (makes it easier in their tents). We have started bringing them empty litter jugs and pails (both with lids), but it is taking us a long time to get everyone one or two of them. (folks with cats need two).
So, we thought, ‘How about a jug ‘n’ pail drive”. If you have either of these items, please feel free to drop them off at 3809 46th Ave SW, in the front yard. It’s very important that the containers have a lid (to keep them from spilling, keep the pet out of the pet food (and, unfortunately, the rats too). And if you could rinse them out first, in case they are used for cat/dog food, it would be greatly appreciated.
This ‘drive’ will go through September 21st. Thanks for thinking of our friends–both human and furry, at Nickelsville. Cheers, the F3 Gang

DelridgeResidentMemberI know the drive was only through Sept. 21st, but is this an ongoing need? I currently have a jug and a pail and can drop it by the address listed or take it by Nickelsville.

miwsParticipantHi DelridgeResident,
Anything like that would very likely be an ongoing need.
One added benefit of the kitty litter jugs, if there isn’t a need for them as litter/food storage at any given time, is that they are perfect for putting water in, and placing them throughout Camp, to aid should there be a fire.
Thanks!
Mike

furryfacesParticipantHi Delridge Resident,
Thank you for remembering and asking.
We are happy to permanently extend our ‘jug ‘n’ pail drive”. If folks have either of these items, please feel free to drop them off at 3809 46th Ave SW, in the front yard.
Please remember that it’s very important the containers have a lid to keep them from spilling; keep the pet out of the pet food; and unfortunately, the rats too.
If people could rinse them out first prior to dropping them by,it would be greatly appreciated as dish washing is a limited resource at NV.
Cheers, the F3 Gang
