UrbanFabulousParticipantWas anyone walking on Alki today and saw a little old lady get bitten by a dog? My grandmother was walking her small, white dog down on the Salty’s/Bubbles end of the beach (Alki Ave S) when a large, reddish colored, off leash dog with longer hair jumped out of the bushes and grabbed her dog by the neck. When my grandmother went to help her dog, the red dog bit my grandmother’s leg. The owner apparently came out of the bushes behind her dog and was crying. My grandmother said the woman had brown, curly, shoulder length hair. The owner also mentioned that my grandmother was the second person her dog had bitten. My grandmother’s leg was bleeding pretty badly and she had to go to the emergency room.

JanSParticipanta question…did your grandmother mention if this woman had a leash with her? I’m so sorry to hear this happened…I hope she got some more information from this woman, as she should be paying the medical bills. And maybe learning how to be a good citizen when walking her dog, for g-d’s sake.

UrbanFabulousParticipantIt had a leash on, but the woman wasn’t holding it. The woman didn’t give her any information either, which is why we’re trying to find her.

JoBParticipantsometimes, even dogs on leashes get away from their owners…
but there is no excuse for not providing contact information and helping to get medical care when your dog bites someone…
i hope someone knows this young woman and her dog.
