AimParticipantJan you’re not kidding. I think there should be a shoefly meetup in our future. Or maybe I can convince Luis to make another of his AMAZING key lime pies and we’ll have you over.

JanSParticipantKey lime pie makes me drool – lol – yummy, yummy, yummy. Luis makes pie? Definitely a keeper :)

WSBKeymasterIs this related to the sale of the business?
April 28, 2008 at 3:26 pm #623240
hopeyParticipantI was wondering along the same lines too… do you know for certain that it has been sold?
April 28, 2008 at 6:02 pm #623241
JoBParticipantif it has.. i need to go… just to make sure i see it before it’s gone…
April 28, 2008 at 7:12 pm #623242
JanSParticipantif it’s been sold I hope that it won’t be a drastic change…but..hope gets you where? I realize that it’s a designated historical building, so know that there are only so many changes that can be made..
maybe someone from the Homestead can clue us in?

SueParticipantAim, Jan and I were just at Shoofly this past Friday – I could certainly have my arm twisted to go back again soon for a gathering. ;)

WSBKeymasterThe CL listing for the Homestead was just renewed today so guess no sale yet.
April 28, 2008 at 10:54 pm #623245
JanSParticipantwell…I suppose that if it’s gonna be for sale..the business, I mean…I’d like to see maybe someone like McMenamin’s do something with it..
they have hotel properties in the Vancouver-Portland area…and 3 pubs in seattle. I know they tried once before to get into the area with a hotel, over in St. Edward’s State Part, in the old monastery property there. Whatever, it’ll be interesting to see what takes place there..
April 29, 2008 at 5:11 am #623246
AlkiParticipantWhy are they having a bake sale? Is there a charity or a cause or is it for profit?
I personally wish the property would go up for sale so somebody can take care of it– as an owner instead of a renter! It’s seems like there’s a good chance it will just get run-down with a renter in there.

hopeyParticipantUm, the property *is* for sale. See the Craigslist link above. However, it is also a designated city landmark, subject to landmark development restriction ordinances. I suspect that is part of why they are having a hard time finding a buyer for the property.
Also, the lot is zoned commercial, which I *think* precludes it from being used as a solely residential property, but I could be wrong.

WSBKeymasterWe just posted a few pix after stopping briefly by the sale right at 3 pm:
