CroweMemberI have looked in the forums and there is some good info for Pre-schools and Schools.
But we are looking for a new after school program. My son is not happy where he is. I could make a list why, but if any one knows of some great places in WS, PLEASE share!
Thanks

angelescrestParticipantFauntleroy Children’s Center is used by one child at my daughter’s school. Also, Alki Congregational has after school care (new!); it’s at Hinds 62nd. What time does Gatewood end?

angelescrestParticipantI know Fauntleroy picks up the children…and they have a happy disposition.

KAJMemberCheck out Life Learning Center on 35th – they are starting a new before/after school program and I hear they will offer music and other good activities for the kids. 206-932-0648

BonnieParticipantI think the Y has after school programs.

KAJMemberI hear Life Center offers transportation to either all or most schools, too – I’m not sure the Y and others offer this to all schools so you’ll want to make sure you ask when you call around. They generally only offer it to select schools.

MJPMemberI had my 4 year old daughter enrolled in the Alki Kid’s Place program at Alki UCC (led by Cheryl Snyder)for two weeks this past summer and I now have her in the after school program one day a week. The space is clean and inviting with many activities for all ages (4-14). I know my daughter is safe and in a place where she is truly cared for. It seems the word is still getting out about this great new program. Come check it out for yourself or spread the word to anyone you know in need of after school care.

LisaMLancasterMemberI am a mom of an Alki Elementary 2nd grader and was considering Hiwatha and/or Alki Community Center for after school care, but they had very long waiting lists. THANKFULLY I found “Alki Kids Place” which is only 2 blocks away on 61st and Hinds and Cheryl personally meets the kids at the school and safely escorts them over to the facility. It is a huge facility with 2 large playrooms, they do crafts, they help with homework, give snacks, play on the playground, watch movies, and even offer on-site Tae Kwon Do!! The caregivers are totally open and warm. All this for only $15/day or $70/week. This is AWESOME care and I would highly recommend it to every parent. THEY ARE LOOKING TO ENROLL MORE KIDS!! NO WAITING LIST!! =) Their number is 206-938-0145.

addParticipantI think it might be full, but Blazing Trails childcare at Pathfinder School is great. No transportation is provided, but they have a great committed staff and my kids loved it there! Kids come from schools all over WS, not just Pathfinder. They also have a really good and reasonably priced summer program.
