You are so thoughtful, but…

I think that maybe the best thing for you to do is take the money you have and put it in the bank. In these hard times it is imperative to have some money set aside should things get rough. We all get enthusiastic about helping others especially during the holiday season and I admire your wanting to comfort those less fortunate. Would you consider a couple of alternatives?

*Visit the VA Hospital and sit quietly with someone there.

*Go to one of the retirement centers and see if there is a resident without friends or family that could use a little cheering up.

*Take a board game (chess, checkers?) down to Nicklesville and spend quality time with one of the residents. Let them know that you find value in their existence and so should they.

*Visit a Children’s Home. Read to them and even sing to them and don’t forget to give lots of hugs.

*Talk to one of the Animal Rescue groups and see how you can help. Clean cages, do some dog walking or whatever will best service their needs.

*Go to the Library and ask if you can give a spontaneous reading of children’s books for all to enjoy.

You can do these and lots of other things on your own or invite some of your friends and family along.

Giving our “Time” is one of the greatest gifts we can share and its impact will last forever.
