BIZNOTE FOLLOWUP: Here’s what’s (likely) moving in after The Row House closes in The Junction

Last weekend, we reported on The Row House‘s announcement it would close its West Seattle Junction location (4203 SW Oregon). The announcement mentioned another business taking the space in early August. We’ve been working since then to find out more about that; now we’ve received an announcement directly from the prospective tenant, NW Fitness Project, sent on behalf of co-founders Kyle Davis and Matt Holland:

After eight years of building community-centered fitness in Fremont, we’re excited to share that we’re in early discussions about bringing our personal and small group training philosophy to a second location in West Seattle. For those not familiar, we believe fitness should adapt to your life, not the other way around and want to help you train smarter and get stronger.

While nothing is finalized yet and lease negotiations are still ongoing, we’re thrilled about the possibility of serving the West Seattle community with the same sustainable, personalized training that has defined NW Fitness Project since 2017 at our flagship studio in Fremont.

We understand that West Seattle Row House members may be searching for a new fitness home, and should our expansion move forward (fingers crossed!), we’d love to assure that the community would be in very capable hands. Whether through our small (10 people max) group classes or one-on-one personal training, we focus on meeting each person exactly where they are while building relationships both in Fremont, and hopefully, in our new home in West Seattle.

We’re committed to taking the right steps at the right pace – growth that’s sustainable for our team, our values, and most importantly, for the community of clients we serve.

They promise updates at nwfitnessproject.com/westseattle and also are offering, if you’re interested, a free class at their current location in Fremont.

I have been going to nw fitness project for years And I love it! I’m excited for this new location. Coach jeremy is the best and also lives in west seattle.

I am thrilled to hear NWFP is considering expansion to a second location!  I can’t wait to follow coach Jeremy from the Fremont  location  to West Seattle. We have been working together for over a year and he has helped me to achieve my fitness goals!

West Seattle is sooooo lucky to get NW Fitness Project.  Coaches Jeremy and Steven are truly incredible.  The strength focused classes are so well thought out.  And the personal training sessions have given me strength that I have never been able to attain at any other gym or environment.

Wow. $400/mo ($2400 for 6 Mo) to workout 3 or more times a week.  I guess I’m getting old, and poor.

      Yikes. Me too.

Agree $400/mon is expensive- that’s a special Half Year Membership that’s a combo of group and personal training that’s also helping our current community invest in our expansion.Single drop ins $38, and memberships start at $240/mon for 8x.

Way too much money for me!

NWFP is the best! The community they’ve built is second only to their trainers—Jeremy is the best in the biz! Been training with him 1:1 and in classes for almost a year and have never felt stronger or more comfortable in a gym. West Seattle will be in good hands!

$400  a month and not even a sauna? Can only go so many times? There are plenty of other options around for a lot cheaper. I’m sorry, I just don’t see it working for yall. Too much competition and your prices are outrageous. It’s hard to get anyone to pay $100+ for a membership, let alone $400 🤣

Judging by what the commenters who actually know this business are saying, you are clearly wrong. $400 for a crossfitty style gym is not abnormal. It’s training, not a giant warehouse filled with machines no one is using.

Your title is pretty misleading in that you haven’t even done an update on what Row House is doing. There will be a new row location. Stay tuned.

Hi, yes, it is an update – Row House’s announcement said a new business would be moving into the Junction space but didn’t identify it, and this story does. As for what Row House itself is doing next and why they closed, I would LOVE to report that and in fact assigned a reporter specifically to contact them – he has tried multiple ways and has not received a reply. If they decide to reply, we’ll be glad to report an update on their future too. Thanks! – TR

Well if Wsblog can’t get the skinny, why don’t YOU tell us and give a source. Because my husband is pretty gutted about rowhouse and would love to know where he can go

Exciting!!! I used to have a membership when I lived in Fremont! Glad to see them in West Seattle, I missed you a lot!

Saddened as well. I just started going to Row House to get cardio with low impact on my knees.  Would love to know what will happen to my credits if i don’t use at another Row House.

I’m so excited about this. I used to run exclusively, and as I get older, I wanted to make sure to add weightlifting for overall health, but every time I went to the gym, I would hurt my back or something else. NWFP helped me learn how to lift well and make the right choices for my body, injuries, etc. I moved from Fremont to WS 4 years ago and still, yes, pay the price and make the drive. The instructors and the community are worth it for me.
