April 30: City Nature Challenge

The first guided hike this season will be part of the City Nature Challenge 2022. We will be using the iNaturalist app to photograph and identify plant and animal wildlife in the greenbelt. We are partnering with Delridge Community Center. Register to join the walk through Seattle Parks. Optional: Create an iNaturalist account on your phone or computer to upload observations and photos.

On the walk, observe nature. Take photos of any living thing you find. This could be a plant, animal, fungi, or any other living thing! After the walk, upload your observations to iNaturalist. Follow the in-app or web-based instructions to upload and share your observations. Any observations logged during the event will automatically be included in the City Nature Challenge as we tally how many different varieties of wildlife we can find in our city.

Meet at the Riverview Playfields, 7226 12th Ave. SW, upper north parking lot at 10 a.m. Parts of the trails are graveled and well-constructed; other parts can be muddy, so come prepared for that.
