I am having a Buffet Fundraising Dinner to help me raise funds for my upcoming AFS trip to Italy. It is this Friday, June 21, 2013 from 5:30-9:30 pm at Holy Family School, 9615 20th Ave SW. Drinks are included with the dinner; entrance is $20 for adults and $5 for children under age 10.

A few months ago, I applied to study abroad next school year 2013-2014 in Italy through the American Field Service (AFS) Intercultural exchange program. I am happy to say I was accepted and will be studying in Italy for my junior year.

In Italy, I will be attending school while getting to learn firsthand about Italy’s culture and traditions as well as their teaching system. I have always loved learning new things and taking on challenges. I know that studying abroad will be a great challenge for me by making me adapt to a different environment, a different form of teaching, studying Italy’s language, culture and being away from my family for a school year. By going abroad I hope to learn from this experience, that I am convinced will be life-changing, gain better knowledge of my world community and also learn more about myself as a person.
