PHOTOS: ‘No Kings’ rallies on West Seattle streetcorners during nationwide protests

11:39 AM: Also happening right now, the “No Kings” rallies coast-to-coast. While Seattle’s biggest gathering is planned for Cal Anderson Park, as we’ve reported, at least five West Seattle gatherings have been announced, and the first is happening right now on the corners at Admiral/California. WSB’s Hayden Yu Andersen counted at least 70 people between the corners and sent these photos:

Earlier, some West Seattleites met up to take Metro east from The Junction, including this woman who was handing out small flags:

A gathering at The Junction has just begun – updates on that shortly.

11:54 AM: Hayden estimates more than 260 people in The Junction “and more filtering in.”

12:42 PM: We heard honking near our booth at the Morgan Junction Community Festival, so went out to the street to look and found a few demonstrators gathered, unannounced, on the corners at California/Fauntleroy too:

The man with the upside-down flag – a symbol of distress – told us his flag dates back to at least the ’60s, passed down by his grandfather. … Meantime, we just checked out the demonstration in The Junction via live traffic cam – here’s a screengrab:

1:22 PM: The downtown march is headed west from Cal Anderson – be aware of traffic effects if you are headed across the bay in the next few hours. Here in WS, we have a photographer checking out the South Delridge gathering and will add that later.

2:57 PM: Nathan sent this photo from a gathering on the South Park Bridge:

ADDED SATURDAY EVENING: The next four photos are from the Junction rally, by photojournalist Oliver Hamlin for WSB:

This one was sent by Arlene Rubin:

And this video is from Clay Eals, who recorded several passes at Walk-All-Ways:

Still a bit more to add later…

Happy Birthday President Trump! May God bless you, Sir, as you protect this great nation.

  • RickB June 14, 2025 (2:43 pm)

Thanks to all who turned out and spoke up today!

  • Jenny June 14, 2025 (2:53 pm)

First time I attended one of these. I think there’s a sea change happening. If the soccer moms, bbq dads, & bingo grandparents are showing up, then the power of We the People has been activated.

    • Jenny, you are awesome June 14, 2025 (5:20 pm)

I loved reading this. Hands Off (on April 5th) was my first time at a big protest, and it’s wonderful to see that even more people are showing up for the first time today. Thank you so much for getting involved, Jenny.

      We’ve got this, everyone!!!

    • Lauren June 14, 2025 (6:06 pm)

Right on, Jenny. Glad you came out today!

    • alkiannie June 14, 2025 (8:40 pm)

I’ve attended many of these events and it’s always been soccer moms and bingo grandparents. Especially people 60+  yo women – they are the backbone of this movement.

100% agree  Glad to see the awesome turnout!  🇺🇸

  • Trump/Vance June 14, 2025 (3:20 pm)

God bless President Trump and the USA

  • E June 14, 2025 (3:33 pm)

Thank you to the people giving out water during the Alaska Junction demonstration! So very kind and so very appreciated!

  • WSDUDEMAN June 14, 2025 (3:44 pm)

Is this a protest or a celebration? As the lady’s shirt correctly states, we haven’t had a king since 1776. The constitutional republic form of government was designed to address this. Happy day to all!

  • Happy 250th Birthday Army June 14, 2025 (3:45 pm)

    Go Army 🇺🇲💪

  • anonyme June 14, 2025 (4:03 pm)

And today Trump is spending 45 million taxpayer dollars on a birthday party for himself, using our military as props, while cutting services to desperate and starving people – many of them right here in the USA.  Will the crowds along the parade route be required to bow?

  • k June 14, 2025 (4:10 pm)

There are some great pictures from Arrowhead Gardens showing up online too.  Way to go, West Seattle!

  • Scott Scowcroft June 14, 2025 (4:20 pm)

So glad to see all the spontaneous corner protests. People just showed up with signs and flags. No one asked them to.

    • Yma June 14, 2025 (6:00 pm)

      And nobody paid them, either!

  • WS98 June 14, 2025 (5:29 pm)

There were 80+ at the 2pm Admiral Junction protest. Super positive thumbs up, honks and support from drivers heading in all directions! It was great to see and hear about the strong presence and support across our peninsula.

  • Julie June 14, 2025 (8:38 pm)

Thank you to all of those that protested! How wonderful to see so many people  peacefully  expressing their opposition to Trump’s policies and tactics.

  • Delridge June 14, 2025 (10:12 pm)

There was some protesting on delridge and thistle but I don’t know how to send the photo of it

  • Canton June 15, 2025 (1:27 am)

As a non supporter of the “Kings” nonsense, I am proud that today’s protests were mostly peaceful. It sounds like around 70,000 peaceful people were given their right to protest, and that stance is great. To the handful of antifa people that need to destroy, shame is your game… Guess you own it. God bless the first amendment!

West Seattle Indivisible filled up 3 charter busloads of West Seattleites to head to Seattle for the rally and march on Saturday!  Should have sent in a photo of us loading at WSHS. We marched with our WSI banner and 60 distinctive “NO KINGS” crown pole signs that even caught the eye of The Stranger and The New York Times!  Come join us at westseattleindivisible.com https://www.thestranger.com/authors/79631457/hannah-murphy-winterhttps://www.nytimes.com/live/2025/06/14/us/protests-news
