ROAD WORK/CLOSURES

*The RapidRide H Line project continues major work along Delridge Way, with weekend closures ahead – here are the updates for this week.

*Another 1st Ave. S. Bridge northbound closure is scheduled tonight, 10 pm-5 am.

CHECK THE TRAFFIC BEFORE YOU GO

Here’s the 5-way intersection camera (Spokane/West Marginal/Delridge/Chelan):

Here’s the restricted-daytime-access (open to all 9 pm-5 am) low bridge:

The main detour route across the Duwamish River is the 1st Avenue South Bridge (map) . Here’s that camera:

The other major bridge across the river is the South Park Bridge (map). Here’s that camera:

Going through South Park? Don’t speed.

Check the @SDOTBridges Twitter feed for info about any of those bridges opening for marine traffic.

You can see all local traffic cams here; locally relevant cameras are also shown on this WSB page.

When is DOT going to put a sign on the freeway stating that semi’s can use the low bridge!! The semi’s are causing huge traffic delays.

Are the lines getting into the ports long? If thats the case, traffic may stop because of that too. Also the low bridge opens a lot more than the first ave bridge.

Traffic on SB West Marginal is getting outrageously bad mid-morning – back to the 5500 block.   Have to fix that intersection.

No its not backed up, I talk to truck drivers  daily per my employer they all think they aren’t allowed to cross the bridge.  They are following their GPS which says bridge closed! Hence the request for a sign on the freeway.

Gee, is this what happens when you use a free service oriented toward ordinary car drivers? You know the old saying, free advice is worth what you pay for it. But fewer heavy trucks stressing the low bridge is not a bad thing.

I moved from the Seals motel on Aurora Avenue north to west Seattle 33 years ago because of the traffic on Aurora was bad and found a place for 55 thousand in west Seattle.   Worked at Lockheed shipyard harbor island and Todd.  I could walk to work.  Then took a job at Boeing Everett crossing the west Seattle bridge everyday.

Sorry, comment time is over.
