West Seattle restaurants: Pagliacci expansion almost done

Pagliacci Pizza in The Junction has been remodeling and expanding into the former boutique space next door, so it can expand its sit-down area and start serving slices. We first reported on the plan last December; work started in April, and tonight, Pagliacci’s Shelly McNulty sends word that they’re almost done:

We plan to start serving slices next Tuesday, June 30. We will be open for lunch at 11 am daily. However, our delivery hours will remain the same, starting at 5 pm weekdays and 4 pm weekends. In addition to pizza by the slice, dine-in customers may enjoy a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine and beer and wine offerings (unfortunately not available for delivery).

Next year will mark Pagliacci’s 20th anniversary in its Junction location.

Shelly, I know you expanded your delivery zone, but not far enough south! I am sorry, I didn’t check the delivery area before I bought my house, how long must I suffer? Arbor heights, please!!!

Amen SeattleFran! I’ll gladly sign any petition.

Any future delivery zone expansions? I live 2 miles exactly away per google maps but because I live within a block of Delridge I’m in the “danger zone” so no delivery for me.

As someone who was a delivery driver for Pagliacci quite a few years back for a short time, all I can say is if you live on Delridge, High Point area, Harbor Heights, Westwood, etc. I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for Pagliacci to expand their delivery map to these areas. I thought the delivery map was set up kind of strange, and didn’t deliver to one neighborhood that was closer than other neighborhoods, so I asked about it and was told that Pagliacci likes to deliver to the more “affluent” neighborhoods.

Sounds like I need to start a pizza delivery business!

As an Arbor Heights resident, I’ve been disappointed in the delivery options here as well. It’s as if we live on an island, but really it’s not that far from these places!
    .
That said, we’ve found alternatives. For pizza, we’ve been ordering from Proletariat in White Center and it is great! They have no problem delivering to Arbor Heights and they are fast and friendly. We’ve only ordered a couple times so far, but the experience has been good. I’d recommend giving them a try and forget Pagliacci.

@Eric- ha ha. Wow. I’m a little surprised. Or maybe not. I guess I’ll continue to spend my pizza dollars elsewhere. Can’t wait for Mioposto! their pizza is better anyway.

Before the Pagliacci delivery-zone discussion gets too far out of hand: They didn’t deliver to our neighborhood until the expansion this year. There are million-dollar bluff homes all around us (we have the non-bluff hovel in the middle). If they wanted to deliver to affluent homes, they would have added this a LONG time ago. – TR

I’d like to say a super yay! and yahoo! that dine in and slices will be available! Thank you Pagliacci!!!! As an Arbor Heights resident, I’d like to say that expanded delivery here would be very awesome and appreciated too.

    TR-
Just because they didn’t deliver to your neighborhood for a long time or to EVERY affluent neighborhood, doesn’t mean that this wasn’t in their delivery zone criteria. I worked there. This was told to me first hand. No one has to believe me, just look at their delivery zone some years back for the first expansion and they can see that the way the zone was set up, less affluent neighborhoods that were much closer to Pagliacci, while other more affluent neighborhoods farther away were in the zone. Of course there were also exceptions of people outside the zone who were delivered to like that NY Vinny radio personality who I delivered to a few times. I’d be curious as to their expansion expanding to less affluent neighborhoods now. Is that happening?

    @eric

That’s absolutely untrue, as evidenced by Pagliacci’s expansion into Pigeon Point and as far south as Thistle. Oh…and the fact that we deliver to High Point every day. It’s about delivery times, plain and simple.

funny, that they expanded to Pigeon Point but not Puget Ridge. I mean to get to Puget ridge, you take Genessee, which is a couple blocks closer to Pagliacci’s than Andover.

I live on Marine View in Arbor Heights and I used to be upset over the Pagliacci neglect to our hood. I started getting pies delivered from Proletariat and have forgotten all about Pag’s. Proletariat is awesome, give them a shot.

Pizza-slightly-less-than-piping-hot vs. No pizza…. I will take slightly cool pizza. I have an oven, toaster oven, or microwave if need be. Or, gasp, I would most likely eat it as is. Just give AH residents a disclaimer that their pizza may be slightly cooler due to the 12-15 min drive time. Crikey, it won’t turn into an ice cube in that drive time. Will definitely check out Proletariat’s delivery. Thx for the tips on that, everyone.

We missed Pagliacci Pizza when we moved to Arbor heights. But we discovered Zeeks in the Morgan Junction delivers to Arbor Heights.
There pizza is as good I think.

  • Eric June 25, 2015 (3:17 pm)

Well current Pagliacci driver, all I can say is….about time and I 100% stand by what I said about when I worked there, because it is/was 100% true. I have no reason to make something like this up. All one needs to do is look at their delivery map from about 10 years ago to see for themselves

  • Kanakitty June 25, 2015 (3:20 pm)

Delivery to Pigeon Point as far as Thistle is untrue. I live in Riverview in between these two and Pagliacci doesn’t deliver to us. :(… We’ve been ordering from Proliteriate instead. I do miss Pagliacci and keep checking but I guess I live in the “hood” and will never be affluent enough for pizza delivery. Bummer…

Sorry, comment time is over.
