If you wondered about the police response in Arbor Heights

Police are wrapping up at the scene of what was reported to be an armed person threatening self-harm in the 35th/98th vicinity. Via emergency radio, we hear the person was taken into custody, apparently with no injury to them or to officers.

(Reminder: Crisis Clinic has a 24-hour hotline for anyone considering self-harm: 206-461-3222.)

It was a pretty interesting situation right outside my bedroom window. The gentleman was asking for the police to shoot him. Scary stuff. Seems like there are a few parties involved currently and they are taking the gentleman to the hospital.

Thanks, Neighbor. Thought I heard the AMR siren in the distance and no new emergency calls, so suspected as much. A police negotiator was involved too … we often point out, police are dispatched to crises like these as much as to crimes.

Sorry, comment time is over.
