West Seattle Crime Watch: Woman knocked down, robbed; car damaged, abandoned

Two West Seattle Crime Watch reports this morning:

WOMAN ATTACKED, ROBBED: A 20-year-old woman was hit from behind and knocked to the ground during a strong-arm robbery at 14th/Henderson (map) around 9:40 last night. We just obtained the police report and it added that detail to what a reader told us in e-mail, saying the victim “was attacked by two young female assailants. They stole her phone and wallet, using a knife to cut the backpack off her back while kicking her in the face and chest.” We asked how she’s doing: “She is cut up and bruised but otherwise unhurt.” No descriptions in either report.

ABANDONED CAR: From North Delridge, this photo of a suspected stolen car, abandoned at 26th and Graham (map), door hanging open, rear window broken out:

The resident who sent the photo says she has contacted police.

The license plate should make it pretty easy to find the owner of the car……that is if that plate really belongs to that car!

I’m surprised the thieves were able to get around the engine immobilizer, which has been standard on VW Jettas for decades.

The car created comments but not the women being robbed.

My thoughts are with the victim and hope that she recovers quickly. So scary!!!

So upsetting – ALL OF IT – Fed up! I have to admit that when I am walking anywhere (nowadays), I have my car keys in my fist, individual keys are placed between my fingers (Wolverine style). I used to only do this at night. Now I do it at 9:30 am ANYWHERE, ANYTIME. Hope I never have to find out how effective a key punch to the eye would be ……. nonetheless – I’m ready

Ugh, I hope the emotional trauma heals with the physical.

Sandal41, let’s hope you never find yourself in a situation that warrants that. But if you do, don’t position your keys as described – you’ll screw your hand up pretty badly if you hit anything hard enough to make a difference.

This has got to stop now. From the neighborhood level to the nation as a whole, we must come together to defend our citizens from these crimes.

(over filling prisons is not the answer, nor is light slaps on the wrist for crimes that are hurtful to people or Proptery .)

News flash there are a lot of people that don’t like America and they live here.
They don’t care if they harm you, trash or steal from you. They simply don’t care about this country or what America stands for.
They enjoy all the freedoms our ancestors created and fought for, yet they spit and look to destroy our way of life and liberty.
    It’s time to
Stand up and make a positive change because you do care. Take back the neighbors from those that look to destroy us.
    1love
