Happening now: Raven tapping to get from West Seattle to Chicago

12:55 PM: Outside CAPERS at 4525 California SW in The Junction right now, you’ll find 9-year-old Raven tap dancing; CAPERS’ Lisa Myers explains that Raven is “raising funds to be part of the HUMAN RHYTHM PROJECT FESTIVAL in Chicago in July. Come support this fabulous local talent.” She’s there until 2. (And if you didn’t see this in time – you can still donate to Raven’s fundraising campaign; CAPERS will forward donations.)

Good for her, I hope she makes it to Chicago.

What a great day!! Thank you Lisa Meyers @ Capers for your genuine loving support of this talented nine year old. Raven has been busking for bucks to fund her upcoming incredible opportunity with the Human Rhythm Project in Chicago. And you, West Seattle, filled up the piggy bank today! She’s a goin’!! While passersby got the impromptu show, folks literally read the WS blog, jumped in their cars and DROVE up to donate. Blessings to all of you! Raven wanted to mention that her great-grandma (plus 5 siblings) all graduated from West Seattle High School. Class of 1932 – Margaret Bingham (Dougherty) Thank you so very much.

Thanks, Hipster, and we in turn say thank you to Raven, and Lisa for hosting her, and to all the people out there (here!) doing cool things and helping other people do cool things AND coming here to find out more about people doing cool things … TR
