West Seattle restaurants: Mioposto to open in Admiral on Saturday

(WSB photo added 5:57 pm: New restaurant’s wood-fired oven)
The opening of Mioposto‘s new Admiral restaurant is now set for next Saturday (August 8th), 4 pm. That’s the word today from Mioposto proprietor Jeremy Hardy – two days later than hoped, but still in the midsummer time frame envisioned last spring. The restaurant is occupying the north part of the former Admiralty House Antiques building at California/Walker, its third location after Mt. Baker and Bryant. We’re expecting some additional information shortly – hours, for starters – so check back on this story.

ADDED: Hardy says the hours will start as 4-10 pm Sundays-Thursdays, 4 pm-11 pm Fridays and Saturdays.

Please update the restaurant section of the Blog. Many people use it to figure out where to eat. I personally use it quite a bit, but it seems to be very much outdated. I can help with it if needed.

Hi, our editorial assistant has just made another round of calls to verify the information, which takes a fair amount of time and expense for us, but we do it every few months to do our best to make sure this is as up to date as possible. If you’ve found something outdated for a specific venue, please leave a comment on the specific restaurant’s page so that we can contact them again and find out why there’s a discrepancy. We mention on every single page that we want to hear from restaurant proprietors and/or customers if there has been a change, and on the rare occasions we do, we make that change – Tracy

Is this the same owner as Pizzeria 22 or is another Neoplotan pizza place opening up within a block of it?

    • WSB August 3, 2015 (6:28 pm)

Cary Kemp owns Pizzeria 22, two blocks away. Jeremy Hardy, as noted in the story, owns Mioposto. There’s also a wood-fired pizza place in The Junction, Credo, which isn’t related to either.

Morgan Junction needs wood fire pizza

  • JayDee August 3, 2015 (8:23 pm)

If Mioposto does good wood fired pizza like Pizzeria 22, great; If they offer more seating room than 22, great; If their pizza offerings are salty and uninspired, the market will decide which of these three business remain a going concern.

Another pizza joint? No bueno for the gluten/dairy free families of west seattle. Looking forward fo some interesting, unique and ethnic joints opening in WS. Any word on Ittos?

The discussion was had here previously but Mioposto by the looks of the menu and the explanations of those who have been to its other branches is not a “pizza joint.” Small plates too, and sandwiches, among other things. And it appears their pizza is available with gluten-free crust: http://miopostopizza.com/menu

Do they really burn wood? What do they do during a burn ban?

I’d love some good Middle Eastern food: falafel, shawarma. Looks like we’ve got pizza covered in West Seattle…

    That’s a beautiful oven, though.

To all, and anonyme in particular: Cafe Mawadda (next to the former Zatz Bagels) has a delicious Middle Eastern & Mediterranean menu.

Uh oh, now I’m thinking about it…

I think tonight might be a gyro night!!

  • Wsgal August 4, 2015 (3:01 pm)

Yes, all the same small plates and salads as the other pizza joints. I agree.

  • anonyme August 4, 2015 (5:14 pm)

Lauri – never heard of it! Thanks, I’ll have to check it out now. Is that on Alki? Falafel?

M – Try Peel and Press in Morgan Junction! Great pizza and Italian food.

We would like to welcome our new neighbors Mio Posto who are 1 city block away from us at Pizzeria 22. I am writing this to clarify as we are getting many confused calls from customers wondering if we have moved or are opening another location. To JayDee, we have expanded our restaurant at Pizzeria 22 and have a new dining room with 50 seats, which is also available for private dining. Lastly, we are now offering gluten free pizza crust made right here in West Seattle by Great Harvest Bread Company!

If the menu at MioPosto is anything like the menu at the S.McClellan one, all I can say is YUMMMMMM!

Sorry, comment time is over.
