I’ve tried several dry cleaners over the last 18 months and I’m just astounded at what they charge. I’ve tried Wardrobe, West Seattle, Debonair in Admiral and Q Cleaners in the Junction. I just got back from Corry’s and needed CPR after seeing that bill: $11/piece for dry cleaning and $3.50 for laundry/shirt. That’s insane. In Arizona we pre-paid $2.99 for dry cleaning and $1.25 a shirt.

Now, I know Corry’s has a reputation as the most expensive, and I dang sure won’t be going back there, but even the least expensive of the other places I’ve tried was too much.

Is there an inexpensive quality place in West Seattle? Is it less in Burien or SoDo or someplace? Or do I just need to grit my teeth and wear my suits one time extra?

Try Alki cleaners (next to Phoenicia on Alki) – they are $2/shirt, not sure about other pieces though. They also have on-site alterations that I have always been very pleased with both in quality and cost.
