    West Seattle Toddler Play Groups?

I am a stay-at-home mom looking for a play group for my daughter. She is 18 months old and I would love to find something for her. Would anyone be interested in starting a play group or does anyone have one established that wouldn’t mind a newcomer?

Fantastic! I just knew there had to be someone else out there looking for a play group.

If you’d like, we can try to connect this or next week at a local coffee shop.

We can create our own play group and hopefully more will join us.

There are some parents of 18 mo. old kids who you could connect with on my Mom’s group. Here is the link.

Unfortunately many of the events get filled very quickly but if someone was willing to host…

Thank you very much Bonnie. I will take a look at the site. I think I’ve seen it before but hadn’t heard about it from anyone in West Seattle. Thank you.

As I am new here in Seattle, I was looking into that website that Bonnie gave the link to. Is that just for younger children? My daughter is 8 and I need to find some playmates for her.

Yeah, it is more geared toward younger children. I haven’t seen any groups for older kids (I do have a 7 year old but he isn’t much into playdates). Maybe start one??? Or maybe do some dance classes, soccer, etc.???

I would love to get together and start a play group I have a couple of friends who have young kids too. My son is 13 months but acts like a two year old just cant really talk yet.

Okay, Bonnie, I’ll take your advice and try to start a group for people with children a little older. Around 6-8 yrs old? Again, my daughter doesn’t attend school here so I need to find another way to meet kids around her age. If you are interested in getting together, let me know here and we can discuss further. Thanks

DJ – Sounds great. Let me know when a good time to connect. My daughter is 18 months and she is full of energy.

    Two suggestions:

First – for preschool aged kids we have wonderful Parent Cooperative Preschools here in West Seattle. Classes are a couple of hours a few days per week (depending upon the age of the children) with parents working in the classroom together with a preschool teacher, and parents also have the assistance and insight of Parenting Instructors who are provided by SSCC and are GREAT resources! http://dept.seattlecolleges.com/homelife/welcome.htm

SECOND – for school aged girls, Girl Scouts of Western Washington offers a fantastic leadership program for girls k-12. Girls are placed into local troops with other girls in their age range. If you are interested, contact Deb Cayze at Council: DebAC@girlscoutsww.org or visit http://www.girlscoutsww.org

Some community centers have “indoor playground” in the gym for ages 5 and younger. They have a variety of different toys and play equipment available at each center. A parent or responsible caregiver 18 or older must be present at all times. It’s drop-in, $2 per visit per child.

    Delridge Community Center

    T/W/Th 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

    Fri 12:30 – 2 p.m. and 2:30 – 5:30 p.m.

    High Point Community Center

    T/Th 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

    Th 4 – 6 p.m.

    Fri Noon – 2 p.m.

    South Park Community Center

    M – F 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Here’s where I got the info:
