Seattle ScofflawsParticipantI know this is nothing new and that’s part of the reason why I decided to start filming. Maybe this will get people to comply with the law. Probably not. Here are 3 videos I took recently that I posted under the title of Seattle Scofflaws on the forum. There are other scofflaw videos on my youtube channel if you are interested. Recording people in public is 100% legal. The person taking video or photographs does not need the subjects permission. That is a myth. Courts have ruled, there is no expectation of privacy in public. Thanks.

JeannieParticipantPlease, please call Animal Control to report these violations. Put them on your speed-dial.

Seattle ScofflawsParticipantYes, fellow neighbors call 206 386 7387 to report off leash and or scoop violations. I have them on speed dial and I do call but if they aren’t already in the area the law breakers will be gone before Animal Control arrives. Animal Control says if you get a license plate of the offender they will send them a letter. I added the A.C. number to one of my videos. If I take anymore, I will make sure it’s in the video description.

tom kelleyParticipantI was in Lincoln Park about six weeks ago walking my dog, when two off-leash, medium sized, black dogs came running towards us. The owner was able to call them back and I shouted, “There is a reason for off leash laws!” as my dog tried to go after them. Had those dogs gotten to my dog there would have been vet bills to pay and because my dog is a large (105 lb.) Rottweiler she would have been found guilty. What some dog owners fail to understand is that they are really putting their dogs at risk of serious injury when they allow them to run loose out of control. Also, it’s not fair to fellow dog owners who would like to enjoy the park without the anxiety of a dog confrontation and really unfair to the dogs that may be hurt. That same day two other owners had their dogs off-leash without confrontation, but the experience has caused me to avoid Lincoln Park and just walk my dog in the neighborhood.

Bisker16ParticipantThese videos are awesome, so many off leash dogs at Lincoln park, one time I was running and an off leash dog stood right in my path where I had to stop for it, the owner just smiled like ‘isn’t he so cute’?! I’m a dog lover but not in parks off leash and certainly not in grocery stores while I’m picking out produce!
