    Hi All,

We have a very large maple that needs to have branches that are now growing over the house removed. Does anyone have any recommendations of who to use? Some of the branches are pretty high so we need someone who knows what they are doing, not just a yard/landscape guy. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Several forum members (including me) have had Out on a Limb do tree work.

They definitely know what they are doing and are very professional but I think they have a minimum (per hour) of work they’ll do. Wouldn’t hurt to ask for a bid – there’s an online form you can fill out.

I highly recommend Mark Harman, Stonehedge Tree Experts. 206-937-7428.

Hhmmm, interesting website for Out on a Limb. No phone number on their site! Sure, can probably get the number from Google…but if they have a website…

I would like to speak to them, but don’t want to fill in all the “required” fields in their online form. Interesting way to plan a site.

Kathy of Out on a Limb is very responsive via their website’s required fields. She and her team did a great job for us. Highly recommended.

We tried OUt on a Limb’s website and filled in all the required fields only to hit “submit” to have it error out to a default Yahoo page. Lame. I wanted a quote too.

How frustrating. I’m sure you’ve moved on, but if you found another great company to work with, please post the info!

Yeah – I may end up going to that Stonehedge company. They have a phone number posted.

I’m sure that Kathy of OutOnALimb is responsive and all, but I just don’t want to fill in ALL of that info (property address, billing address, phone, and email) when I just want to ask a simple “what is your availability to come by Alki for a bid this Saturday” question. If just ONE of those fields was required, then that would be understandable – but for ALL of them to be required is a bit more info than I’m comfortable sharing with a company I’m not yet familiar with. I’m sure it’s a great service, just doesn’t fit my ‘style’…or lack thereof. :-p

Why not just fill out the form with garbage info, and explain why in the comments section? That’s what I would do.

A terrific arborist is Bill Wanless with Brooke/Wanless Gardens. His phone number is 206.938.5675. I got Bill’s name off of the blog months ago – he’s been great to work with, very reasonable, honest and willing to work with you. He’s helped me trimmed (and taught me how to do it, too), plant and truly knows his trees and plants. Definitely give him a call.
