KenParticipantI heard one in the distance this morning, but that may have been an audio hallucination since the dogs did not react. It could have been the highpoint SHA contractor.
Which neighborhoods got picked up on the revised – revised schedule?
I am a Friday pickup and I have not seen a truck since the 12th.

SueParticipantKen, there was a truck picking up either recyling or yard waste (couldn’t tell – but I don’t believe it was the garbage) on the east side of Fauntleroy in the 5000 block this morning. Their regular pickup day is Friday, and they picked up today. Or I should say they picked up *something* – it’s hard to tell in the dark, but it looks as if cans are still out across the street with stuff in them. My side of Fauntleroy has alley pickup on Mondays, so I’ll be curious to see if it’s picked up tomorrow – we missed the past 2 Mondays (last pickup was 12/8!), but I don’t hold any illusions that they’ll pick up all of our garbage AND our yard waste AND our recycling tomorrow.

miwsParticipantA couple hours or so ago, I saw a recycle truck stop in front of the Shell station/convenience store just south of Thriftway.
He was headed northbound, and when he stopped, he got out and fiddled around with something on one of the rear wheels. I didn’t notice chains on the wheel, but maybe they were there, and I was unable to see them.
A short time later, I saw a recycle truck, likely the same one, northbound in the alley behind Shell, northbound.
I’ve had the blinds closed to the window on the other side of my apt, which allows me a view of our alley, so I don’t know if we were serviced or not. I can’t see the recycle bins from here and they were not overflowing as of yesterday mid-afternoon, so I can’t tell there status. I don’t know when our regular recycle day is.
I *can* however, see our long overflowing dumpster, and it still is. But hopefully will be picked up tomorrow, our regular garbage day.
Just like WSB World Headquarters, we’ve missed the last two pick-ups (three weeks worth of trash).

GinaParticipantLast trash pickup for me was on December 8th. Thankfully, with the melted snow there is a chance I can get to the transfer station. I would hope that if things are still wonky that the free dump deal will be extended into the first week of 2009.

JoBParticipantwe are obviously on the three week plan since our trash day is friday and our trash was not picked up this weekend.. in spite of clear streets and a clear alley today ;(

datamuseParticipantNo trash pickup in Highland Park this weekend.
Fortunately we don’t generate much trash and can handle another week with no problem, but our recycling bin is about to overflow.

WSBKeymasterWe’ve posted a couple updates on this tonight.
Anybody who actually sees a truck tomorrow PLEASE send a photo if you can … or at least a location … I expect we’ll be trash-truck-tracking (say THAT five times fast) all day long.

pamMemberNeener neener – my garbage is gone! All of it! And there was quite a bit – two cans and two big bags. We hadn’t been picked up for three weeks so that was nice. I’m off Stevens between 49th and 51st. Woo-hoo! Now I am hoping for recycling to get picked up today too.

WSBKeymasterplease post sightings in the home page thread (too or instead) … I’m using those to make a G-map and will be adding to it throughout the day .. and currently don’t have the technological capability to weave the two threads (hp and forum) together (hoping to find a way to do that someday so similar discussions don’t have to be artificially silo’ed from each other – I could make an RSS mash of them for reading but that wouldn’t address posting) … Thanks!

(Pam – I see you already posted in that thread too – thanks!!!!)
