    Hi,

I was wondering if any of you had recent experiences w/ T-Mobile coverage in West Seattle. Particularly LTE coverage in both West Seattle and downtown Seattle. I dug up some old threads but wanted a fresh opinion on the matter.

    Thanks!

my wife gets great coverage on her new S4, even inside the house! I’ll have to do a speed test later, i’ll let you know up and down speeds

I have T-Mobile pre-paid, and there are so many dead spots in WS, it’s not even funny. You would think that you’d have great coverage being only 15 miles or so from their headquarters, but nope. I think it has more to do with all the hills and ridges in WS than anything else.

@ Stina, I think that would be regardless of carrier, because of the aforementioned hills and valleys. The signals from cell towers go straight so in Seattle in general where there are a lot of hills you will find lots of dead spots. I live in Sunrise heights so i guess i have a pretty clear shot from the cell tower close to my house.

i have t-mobile but will be leaving as soon as my contract is up. i have been with them since 1998. Since i upgraded to a smart phone, i have been very disappointed by the coverage. i have called them about it numerous times to no avail. And i feel that it’s their network, not the topology. I have friends that routinely have a signal when i do not. Go eat at Endolyne Joe’s and see if you get a signal. or at West Seattle Fitness. Or my backyard for that matter. Boo T-mobile.

I second what B-Squared wrote. It’s bad enough in West Seattle, it’s even worse nationwide. I travel often for work and rarely have a signal with T-Mobile. Great prices for unlimited calls, texts, and data, poor coverage.

I had similar coverage problems with TMobile. Couldn’t get any reception in our condo unless we stood right by the window and even then it was iffy. Switched to Verizon, no problem. Great reception everywhere.

I have had the opposite experience. I have had T-Mobile since they were Voicestream and just recently decided to upgrade to the Samsung SIII and I get data coverage everywhere. I live in Westwood and work downtown and never have a problem. I also get an amazing deal on my plan – and bought my phone at Costco for 29.99 and that was not a down payment, that was the total cost. My husband and I have unlimited talk, text, and data for $120/month. Take away from that my discount through my corporate buy-in program and we are down to $84/month! Go T-mobile!

I recently switched back to T-Mobile after 3 1/2 years with AT&T. I hate to say it, but coverage is pretty lousy compared to AT&T so you get what you pay for. While I do love the significantly lower phone bill, I get terrible reception at my apartment on California Ave south of the Junction on an iPhone 5. I try to be understanding since I used to deal with cell tower leases and can blame the city of Seattle for the crappy coverage but it does get frustrating.
