I am looking for swimmers’ ear plugs. I have seen some good ones on Amazon, i.e. Speedo or some black rubber ones with string attachments by Como. Has anyone seen something similar in a local store? Or if you are a lap swimmer and wear plugs, what kind do you use? I would order from Amazon, but would like to find them locally and sooner. Thanks, ~z

Never been there, but maybe Second Gear Sports across from Thriftway?

Might be a bit of a long shot, since they are Consignment, and previously used earplugs would be gross, (and I’m sure not sold by them), but maybe a chance they have some never opened, NIB?

Otherwise, not locally based, but Big 5 in Westwood Village?

Thanks, Mike for your suggestions. I actually checked Big 5 and they do have a type of swimmer ear plug, but not the ones shown on Amazon (Speedo Ergo). These and the Como clear Blue ones I have been looking at online have good reviews. So I am hoping that other lap swimmers who are in this market will chime in. ‘Appreciate it. ~z

If you strike out in WS check out Sylvia’s Swimwear up at Northgate. They have a full array of swimming gear from water aerobics to lifeguarding.

I use the Mack’s purple earplug which is soft and tight after I got the swimming ear infection.

Target may even sell ear plugs, but I agree with Sylvia’s having a bigger assortment. If you’re just worried about water in your ears, I recommend a few drops of rubbing alcohol in your ears once you get out of the water. It’s cheap and dries the water right up. I’ve been doing this since my college swimming days and it works like a charm, from pools to the ocean to stinky Lake Washington!
