Can anyone help me out? My mother is coming out to W.Seattle again to visit me and our newest addition. She usually stays with us, but since we are running out of space, she is hoping to find a more private and quiet living situation this summer.

She is hoping to be here May – September, and would make a fabulous house sitter. She is meticulous, quiet, and sits for our family and friend’s dogs (but is allergic to cats). She is also a 25+ yr. real estate agent, and owns her own home in S. Florida.

She is open to house sitting, house sharing, or renting, but is not interested in a roomate situation. Her preference would be to stay in W.Seattle.

    Any ideas?

I put my mom here when Screemie was born. Very comfy.

Here is a rental site for nightly, weekly, or monthly rentals. I know that they have a place in Fauntleroy that my mom was looking into.

Thanks everyone for the great advice so far!

Just to clarify, since my mom hopes to be out here for 5 months, AND owns her own home and car across the country (and rents a car when she comes out to visit – in the past, for 3 months), she would ideally be looking for something that cost less than $500/mo. (very hard to find in a non-roomate situation), or is a house sitting gig.

I really appreciate the recommendations thus far!

Not sure how this works but i found this on a home exchange site. This home says it is in west seattle. Might be worth looking into. And in the mean time I will keep my ears and eyes open. :)

Bumping — looking for potential places for our relatives to stay for a week or so this summer if anyone is interested.
