Got any suggestions? Looking for non-auto-salvage yards and warehouses for household goods. I am aware of ReStore, Earthwise, Second Chance, Habitat, and thrift stores.

We stumbled into a place in Tacoma and thought someone might know of good junkyards / salvage places elsewhere. Household stuff, lights, hardware etc. Any location needed. We are doing light remodeling at our house and looking for a source for used goods

Most of these wouldn’t have much of a web presence so I need your word-of-mouth experience!

    Thanks, Ben

We’re not allowed to give home addresses out on the forums though, right?

    I think munchkin’s place fits the specs . . .

Hey, instead of picking on poor munchkin… How about suggesting something like Pacific Industrial?

Now here, is a really COOL “junk yard” and they ALSO sell other NEW stuff as well.

Conveniently located in South Seattle at:

Bring a sack lunch, as there is plenty to see!

Second Use has reusable building materials from remodeling and demolition projects – http://www.seconduse.com. It is a fun place to walk through. Also Habitat for Humanity has an outlet and is awesome for remodel projects – http://www.seattle-habitat.org/the-habitat-store/

Thanks for the suggestions. Keep them coming!! I will try pacific industrial .

On at least some items I have found second use to be priced higher than expected. The habitat store is great, a great manager, a lot of new goods.

Jones glass and used goods in Tacoma is the place we found by accident last week.

Got be others out there somewhere!?!
